Non-contact automatic measurement of 3D human body is a high-tech which has been developed to apply in the field of clothing since the eighties of the last century. There are many advantages in the 3D scanner, the speed is more quickly and measured parts of body are more than the traditional measurement. However, those scanners were not widely applied in common clothing academy and clothing company because of the high price. In this thesis, non-contact measurement system of young female's bodies was developed based on photogrammetric measurement. The system of this thesis can be applied conveniently in the clothing industry and its cost is less, and the system can achieve the 42 parts of body measurement, otherwise, it has the practical guiding impact to generate the personalized pattern and develop the clothing e-commerce. The main study is presented as follow.Young females aged from 18 to 26, were selected as subjects. The measures on bodily form were obtained by using photogrammetric. Young females were classified to three groups based on the value which is the ratio of height of crotch bottom and the body. Using analysis of variance in the thesis, the result showed that the characteristic parameters of three types of groups have significant differences.From the coverage of body shape, the frontal and profile images of 134 female students'bodies of the second group were focused in this thesis. Using the Curve of Two-elliptic Arcs, the 2- Stage Least–Squares analysis, the BP Neutral Network , Linear Regression analysis and Linear Network, the mathematical fitting models were developed in each corresponding characteristic sizes.By using Matlab and computer graphics, the extracted silhouettes of human body images were obtained and the feature points on the silhouettes were determined based on the characters of bodily form. Then, the main 2D sizes of height, width and thickness were gained. Neck circumference, chest circumference, under bust circumference, waist circumference, belt circumference, hip circumference thigh circumference, knee circumference, calf circumference, shoulder width as well as cervical height were predicted by each corresponding fitting model.The non-contact measurement system was designed by using VB6.0 in this thesis. The feasibility of this system was tested by using measurement of new samples. There is no significant difference between the measurements measured by the system in this paper and that measured by hand, so the system was effective to measure young female bodies.
