Research On NC Cutting Machine Virtual Training System

Virtual Technology (VT) is one of the advanced manufacturing technologies and is a new manufacturing methodology based on information integration in an enterprise. With the development of NC technology, many people whose occupation is to operate mechanical equipments maybe meet with many obstacles when they are using equipments and operational errors may cause both loss and machine malfunction, may lead to a waste of raw materials and manpower and may also endanger operaters' physical safety. In order to guarantee NC equipment's operation accuracy and highly effective training of operators, it is indispensable to develop a NC equipment virtual training system and design a beautiful 3D virtual environment which has graphics and music and is easy to operate.This paper studied the technological characteristics and implementations of virtual training system and confirmed the approach to realize virtual training system. Regarding the practical working process of Haerbin HuaWei's NC cutting machine as a model, a NC cutting machine virtual training system on micro-computer platform is realized. By using the virtual training system, we have altered the traditional teaching models of paper system instruction booklet and teacher-to-student by real objects, thus trainers can study how to use NC cutting machine under a safe environment and customers can be guided to correctly use and maintain the equipments, prevent and timely stop obstacle's emergence and dissolve unsafey factors. Once the equipments break down, this system will help workers analyse the reasons of obstacles and guide the customer quickly complete its maintenance and save precious process time.This system based on Windows software platform has solved problems like the realization of the entire design of the virtual system's user interface, the responds to each operational order and free calling of each kind of data and so on through the use of VC＋＋6.0. This system has completed the interface through the use of Photoshop, has produced the cutting machine's virtual 3D entity modeling, the virtual animation disassembling demonstration and so on through the use of Pro/e, has finished the web production through the use of HTML language and moreover has confirmed the route to call Pro/e constructional drawings without the installment of Pro/e software on the computer by using visual C＋＋6.0 and finally has realized the training system of NC cutting machine based on VR.
