A new catalyst—transition metal oxide loaded on active carbon, which is high efficiency and reusability, has been prepared according to the theory of advanced oxidation process and the stability and adsorption fo active carbon. A good result has been obtained to deal with wastewater containing concentrated organism which are difficult to be degraded. In the thesis a systemic research is to be carried out in these aspests: technics of catalyst preparation, optional reaction condi tion choosing and catalyst performance evaluating. The reaction mechanism and the reaction kinetics model of the phenol degradation process have been studied in theory this as well. The applicatons of the catalyst in dealing with coking wastewater are studied. This research process and results are as following.1 Transition metal oxide loaded on active carbon can be prepared with the co-deposition method. The catalyzing activity of the catalyst under different precipitating agent, different transition metal oxide and different concentration of transition metal have been studied by means of systemic experiment. The result of experiment shows that the catalyst can be reused.2 The optimal reaction condition is obtained through orthogonal experiment. The experiment validation of effect has been finished. The orthogonal experiment results indicate the temperature of reaction is the most significant influencing factor for removal of CODcr, and the pH value, the volume of catalyst and the H2O2 concentration are the second place. The figures of ultraviolet-visible spectrum of simulation wastewater solution before and after the reaction show that the removal of phenol is remarkable under the optimal reaction condition.3 The study of reaction kinetics of catalyst oxidation phenol simulation wastewater was done through ultraviolet-visible spectrum. The results show that the process of this reaction is ono-linear. And its reaction kinetics is very perplexing.4 The preliminary feasibility analysis of treatment real wastewater by this new catalyst was carried out. The result is very remarkable when the catalyst and H2O2 are used in dealing with real wastewater. The CODcr value is far below the state standard of effluent discharge.5 The experiment of studying copper dissolution indicates that there is copper oxide be dissolved when the catalyst is used to deal with real coking-plant wastewater. But...
