| Loess Plateau features topographically, with the area amounting to more than 630,000 km~2. Its ecosystem has already become fragile due to the fluence by natural process and human intervention. The Ecosystem Restoration of Loess Plateau therefore, has become a highlight of ecological study in our country currently, and also become a universally concerned problem for government and the pubic. The paper firstly analyzed five aspects of Loess Plateau, including: (1)the accumulation of Loess Plateau, (2) ovolution history and the geology of Loess Plateau, (3)natural vegetation condition. During primitive era and its succession, (4)zonal and azonal distribution characteristic of extant vegetation, (5)the existence of"soil reservoir"and the causes to the formation of soil dry layer. Then, the research emphasizes that the accumulation and evolvement of Loess Plateau is of a long geological history, loess is material base for Ecological Restoration of Loess Plateau: azonal distribution characteristic of the extant vegetation should be paid more attention during vegetation rehabilitation: Loess plateau is not a endless"soil reservoir"and irrational treatment can cause the formation of dry layer. Moreover, the inconsistent question during vegetation rehabilitation, conflicts to influence the course of restoration and the lack of perfect restoration support and maintenance system are pointed out.Restoration Ecology is a subject to study the restoration and management of ecological conformity and is the ore ctically of instruction to ecological restoration of Loess Plateau. The paper introduces the conception of Restoration Ecology. Its main theory, restoration method, restoration goal and pattern, the successful standards for restoration are applied throughout the research.Loess Plateau is not only a natural unit, but also a societal unit, Ecological restoration of Loess Plateau is a complex and systemic project. The paper points that it is possible to achieve nature restoratione for the degraded ecosystem of Loess Plateau, but though of great limitations, it has great localization. Intervened restoration is a effective, but is a high risk approach. Ecological restoration of Loess Plateau should be based on the analysis and balance on natural restoration and intervened restoration. |
