Research And Design Of CNC Simulation Teaching Platform With Online Help

Based on the CAK6136B NC machine and its KND system, a set ofoperating simulation software based on Visual Basic 6.0 used for thisKND NC machine has been designed, which can realize program editing,parameter setting, machine operating, process simulation. At the sametime, by the tools of HTML Help Workshop, Microsoft FrontPage andFlash, An online help system based on CNC simulation has beendesigned. Thus, CNC simulation teaching platform with online helpsystem has been established which can be used for teaching and training.With the help of teaching platform based on CNC simulation, CNCteaching Multi-media simulation lab has been developed.This paper is composed of five parts. The research of CNC techniquethat indicates the great needs of the persons who master the techniqueof CNC, and the research of teaching platform with online help systembased on NC simulation are introduced in the first part. The second partpresents the CNC teaching framework, points out that the traditionalteaching mode of "blackboard plus chalk" can not cultivate the personswho can master the technique of CNC, brings forward the new forms ofMulti-media and network teaching, designs the teaching platform basedon NC simulation, puts forward the frame of the collectivity, analysesthe function of the system. The variety, the form and the present studystatus in quo of the NC simulation are presented in the third part. Andthe design based on KND NC machine and the method ofmodularization of interfaces design as a whole and functions implementindependently , used the software of VB6.0 is also introduced.Furthermore, it brings out the function of every module, the totalconstruction of CNC simulation system, the process and the means ofthe design, the solution of key problems, and the expansibility of thesystem functions. The fourth part introduces the online help systemused the techniques of Flash, Microsoft FrontPage and HTML HelpWorkshop. The last part indicates the CNC teaching Multi-mediasimulation lab achieved by the teaching platform based on NCsimulation, analyses its functions and summarizes its operatingcondition.The system can be used for both simulating operation as a kind ofinspection in advance before real cutting processing and CNCtheoretical teaching to offer a good study environment for teachers andstudents.
