In our group, since 1999, cultural condition optimization, bioactivity screening and chemical tracking were applied into the secondary metabolite research of marine actinomycetes from Jiaozhou Bay. Many bioactive compounds were isolated, including some novel structures. In this dissertation, 172 actinomycetes have been isolated from Haizhou Bay, Jiangsu Province. The bioactivities screening of 70 actinomycetes showed that the ratio of active strains towards at least 1 out of 8 test microbes applied in our experiment was around 30%. The chemical screening of the 70 actinomycetes indicated us to decide the best strains for further chemical research, i.e. L078, L083 and L158. And the marine strain B7651 was obtained from Prof. Laatsch group, Germany.26 compounds were isolated from 4 marine strains, including 10 new structures, i.e. 3-Hydroxy-6-[(Z)-3′-hydroxy-2′,4′-dimethyl-hept-4′-enoylamino]-2,4-dimethyl-5-oxo-hex-anoic acid (4),2-[5-(2-oxopropyl)tetrahydrofuran-2-yl]propanoic acid (5), 2-oxatricyclo-octane (10), Huaiomycin (15), 5-(6-hydroxy-6-methylheptyl)dihydrofuran-2(3H)-one (17), 6-Hydroxy-6-hydroxymethyl-6H-pyran-3-one (18), 1,6-dihydroxy-hex-3-ene-2,5—dione (19), (1'R, 2R, 4R)-2-(1-hydroxy-8-methylnonyl)-4-hydroxymethyl-butanolide (20), Bremeromycin A (22), Bremeromycin B (26). The new compound, Bremeromycin A (22), had selective activities towards Bacillus subtilis and Chlorella vulgaris.
