Currently, study on Global Change and Terrestrial Ecosystem (GCTE) and Land-Use and Cover Change (LUCC) become the core item and the important direction, and become the most complicated and vitally research contents in global change research.Thermal, precipitation and humidity affected vegetation types and it's distributing, while vegetation types choosing terrene-ecosystem. As the drive power will change along with different space-time scale, we must base on specifically district and period, when study on the drive power of terrene-ecosystem development. Although climate is the factor of which determine vegetation distributing in wide range, its influence is related with the time and space. As a unique physical geography unit in arid area of western china, Xinjiang has its particular physiognomy and vegetation types. It is urgently to find out the rule of environment change then probe its drive power.Aiming to study Xinjiang land cover and vegetation change and to probe its drive power on the 10-year scale, this paper analysis the sensitivity of land-cover to climate change with some RS/GIS techniques based on muti-temporal NOAA/AVHRR NDVI images, and mainly study temperature and region precipitation affected land cover and vegetation annual or seasonally change.and mainly study temperature and region precipitation aifected land cover and vegetation annual or seasonally change. This paper has drawn some conclusions as bellow.1. In regard to whole Xinjiang, from 1982 to 2000, the air temperature of increased 7.56% and precipitation measure to increase 10.3%. This tendency that temperature and wet increasing is obvious. The temperature increasing degree in the North Xinjiang is the biggest among the North, South, East and Yili, gets to 12.5%. The precipitation increasing degree in the east Xinjiang is the biggest, gets to 17.42%. The humidity increasing degree in the South Xinjiang is the biggest, gets to 1.68%. The sunshine percentage in Yili is obvious higher than other regions.2. From 1992 to 2000, the regions that ground vegetation cover trends improved primarily include the exterior ring of oasis in South Xinjiang, the south exterior ring of oasis in Zhungaer Basin, the region of Qitai-Mulei-Beita Mount, etc. While the degenerated regions primarily include the exterior ring of oasis in South Xinjiang too, the eastern region of Taklamakan desert, the belts before Tianshan Mountains in Jinghe-Wusu-Kuitun, the region close to the perimeter of Zhungaer Basin in Tacheng, the northwest of Wulunguhu Lake, and the Kunlun Mountains.3. From 1992 to 2000, the area that ground vegetation cover trends improved occupy 15.94% to whole Xinjiang, and 5.70% improved from barren among that number. While the area of trends degenerated regions occupy 10.45%, and serious degenerated4. 1992-2000, the degree of land-cover trended improvement obviously in the East Xinjiang. The desert vegetation deteriorated seriously in the South Xinjiang, while oasis exterior experience deteriorated and improvement at the same time. The desert vegetation trended improvement obviously in the North Xinjiang, while oasis kept stability basically, and the whole up report to have the improvement. Yili has not changed. Totally, Xinjiang ground vegetation cover was trend to report degenerative a little, and ecosystem environment" part improvement, the whole depravation" have not got to turn round.5. Totally speaking, correlation coefficients varieties in different regions and land cover types of Xinjiang. And the barren land and sparse vegetation were strongly influenced by the changes of air temperature and precipitation, but the influences of climate were relatively small for oasis and forest in Xinjiang. To different districts, sensitivity degree on land-cover and climate factors shows some rules as followed. In the East Xinjiang, humidity is the mainly factor, precipitation's effect is minimum. In the South Xinjiang, precipitation is t...
