Collation And Research Of Vocabularies Of The Qin Bamboo Slips Of Yuelu Academy(Volume1-5)

The study of ancient Chinese vocabulary is an important part of the study of the history of Chinese vocabulary and historical linguistics.It’s worth noting that most of the previous studies focused on the traditional books handed down from time to time,with the publication of Dun Huang literature,the study of Chinese lexicology has been greatly expanded in terms of materials.However,due to the times of materials,the breakthroughs were mainly made in the medieval period.In recent decades,with a large number of unearthed bamboo slips and silk manuscripts,the documents of pre-Qin and Qin and Han dynasties have been greatly expanded,providing a rich corpus for the study of the lexical history of ancient Chinese.In terms of vocabulary history or linguistics research in the Qin dynasty,few documents were left due to the short period of the Qin dynasty,which was a blind spot in the field of Chinese history research in the past.However,in recent decades,with the discovery of large quantities of materials such as Qin bamboo slips of Shuihudi,Yuelu academy,Liye and so on,the material gap has been filled up to a great extent.New materials yield new discoveries,and the focus of academic research gradually turned to unearthed materials.However,as both the Qin bamboo slips of Yuelu academy and Liye have been published in the past ten years,the study of vocabulary has not kept pace with the publication of the materials.On the one hand,vocabulary is the most active factor among the three elements of Chinese language.On the other hand,the study of vocabulary is also the weakest link in the study of Chinese language.So far,five volumes of the Qin bamboo slips of Yuelu academy have been published.Based on this,we classified the materials into five categories according to its content: Qin lv,Qin ling,Zouyanshu,Shushu and Guanzhen,and systematically sorted out and studied 885 vocabularies involved.To study the vocabularies of the Qin bamboo slips of Yuelu academy,we mainly start with the study in separate ages,adopt the research method of synchronic study and diachronic study,and try to make clear the footprints of the development and evolution of vocabularies,and reveal the law of the development and change of vocabularies.When sorting out a single word,we will comprehensively consider the three elements of Chinese character glyph,pronunciation and semantics,trace back to the source,and strive to clarify the semantics of each vocabulary.In addition,we also combine with the Qin bamboo slips of Shuihudi and Liye,Han bamboo slips of Zhangjiashan whose content are similar to Qin bamboo slips of Yuelu academy,to further comb the footprints of development and the evolution of the vocabularies of the Qin bamboo slips of Yuelu academy.This paper is large in size and similar in nature to Chinese dictionaries.On the basis of summing up the research of the predecessors,we also have some our own insights,which are expected to benefit the study of the history of Chinese vocabulary,especially the history of ancient Chinese vocabulary.
