With the rapid iteration of the Internet platform,multi-domain,multi-granularity and multi-modal information are rapidly entering human life,and it has prompted a gradual change in the traditional design model.The design model of computational idea generation has become a hot research topic in innovation design nowadays.This model attaches importance to the mining of design knowledge and is based on the cross-fertilization of multiple disciplines in order to achieve the simulation of human intelligence to enhance the creativity of computers.Computers have no longer been limited to the expression of design work.They are developing a role as a source and integrator of design ideas.The intelligent design process jointly led by computers and cognitive subjects should integrate figurative and abstract thinking in design innovation.Because the process has certain ambiguity and randomness,how to make the computer and human brain promote each other and stimulate each other to produce a directional creative form was the focus of this study.The cognitive mechanisms of product form and imagery were explored by integrating knowledge from perceptual engineering,cognitive psychology,Extension,and computer science.The theories and technologies such as nonlinear cognitive spider web,cognitive experiments,Extension Analytic Hierarchy Process,eye-tracking,evolutionary algorithms,and Shape Blending were also applied to complete the construction of cognitive cobweb models,extraction and construction of product form prototypes,acquisition and stratification of inspirational stimulus knowledge,classification of morphological primitives,and establishment of intelligent design systems for different propositions.The main research innovations and contributions are as follows.(1)A basic theoretical framework and method of intelligent design based on design cognition and cobweb model was proposed.Based on the existing product design theories,methods and technologies,combined with the analysis of product form design process,product design knowledge inheritance development and design cognitive description model,the product form design idea was constructed by using the innovative idea of comprehensive integration.The intelligent design innovation mechanism for different design propositions and technology route for multiple design propositions such as brand serialization new product development and multi-imagery knowledge integration were formed.Which deepened the research of intelligent design method from the perspective of design cognition,and promoted the development of the theory and method of product form design.(2)The model of design cognition driving the intelligent design of product form was constructed.The inherent laws of design cognition and its dynamic mechanism were studied,and the cognitive cobweb model was constructed by combining the structural form of the actual cobweb.It used visual representation structure reflected the design process in which the designer started from the product prototype and was stimulated by the inspirational knowledge to derive a new form,which made the whole product system change.It enabled the integration,translation and application of the human brain’s design thinking in the intelligent design of product imagery forms.(3)An imagery information decay model based on the structural properties of cobwebs was constructed.The cobweb impingement and reconstruction phenomena were drawn upon to model the transmission,coupling and decay patterns of semantic information in the design cognition process as parameters to determine the intensity of stimulation of product form prototypes by the cognitive dynamics factors behind design propositions.This model can support the rapid generation of diverse new solutions for directed creative development,and provides a more reasonable theoretical basis for the intelligent design of product imagery forms.(4)A product primitive recognition model for rapid brand form generation was constructed.Based on the principles of Extension and knowledge reuse,product features were distinguished into brand primitives,adaptable primitives,and personalized primitives to achieve quantitative characterization of product form elements for decision making.It provided a basis for establishing an intelligent design and optimization system for product form,and assisted in improving the rationality of solution design.(5)An intelligent design system for brand multi-dimensional style derivation and product multi-imagery knowledge fusion was established.Based on the realization of design cognition driven intelligent design,an intelligent design system based on product primitives was established to address the characteristics of the above two design propositions.The system uses the Bee Evolutionary Genetic Algorithm for brand multidimensional style derivation and the Shape Blending technology for product multi-imagery knowledge fusion,so the optimization of product form design under different target needs was realized,the limitation of individual thinking was avoided,and the design effectiveness was improved to a certain degree.The research results will help complete the computer and human brain collaboration to stimulate design creativity,explore the design space with complexity and uncertainty,quickly generate diverse new solutions and accomplish different design goals.What’s more,new ideas and methods for developing practical product intelligent design tools for industrial design field will be provided.
