Leadership development and employee engagement are two elements critical to the success of organizations. In response to growth opportunities, our Distribution and Logistics company set on a course to implement High Performance Work Place to meet the leadership and employee engagement needs, and to find methods for improving work processes. This study reviews the early steps our company took in the High Performance Work Place initiative, the key performance indicators that were selected to evaluate the success of the program, and recommendations for future steps in implementation.;The recommendations include 1) have a clear strategic vision for High Performance Work Place before implementation begins; 2) develop strong communication channels that are used often to maintain the quality, fidelity, intensity, and consistency of the initiative; 3) develop key performance indicators for measuring program success prior to implementation; 4) provide ongoing support through communication, webinars, and training programs to coach leaders and team members in the transition to a High Performance Work Place; and 5) constantly monitor the implementation of the High Performance Work Place initiative through the key performance indicators, direct observations, and interviews with team members.
