The intention is to make clear the development of school and value of the school existent in the present era. The main points are as follows:the realism school of China was born of the times which deconstruction hold the mainstream, and then, booming on the road of construction that the nation make for the great renaissance. What the school did about logos and humanism getting consistent with the go-ahead direction of the nation. The changing of time-background and the impact of art thoughts in the past ten years strengthen the cohesion of the school. As a result, the persistent pursuit of classic quality becomes the school’s cultural consciousness.Looking back the past one hundred years, Chinese people won a lot in learning sciences and politics from the West. However, for the fine arts, it takes a long time accumulation and practice to get a higher level; it also needs powerful economic development to support the cultural awareness and confidence. What the realism of China did shows the transition from saving the nation from extinction at the commencement of the introduced oil-painting to the consciousness of oil-painting. This dissertation will fill the blank of the research for China realism school, which will be an important reference for the development of China’s contemporary art schools.
