With the rapid advancement of information network science and technology, the integrative development of traditional media and new media has become the general trend of media development. "Media convergence" is a new model under the operation of information transmission channel diversification, and its development would lead to complexity of information terminals, and rapid increasing and popularity of compound new media. The popularity of we-media is not only the result of the integrative development of media, but also a means to deepen media convergence. The single transmission platform of traditional media reflects its oneness and narrowness, and the traditional media, which has been in the leading position of public opinion, gradually declines in the new information environment.This article will carry out further research on the basis of the results of previous researchers with overall social development thinking under the background of media convergence, with the hope of searching for an optimal path to popularizing Marxism in the trend of media convergence and maintaining the leading role and frontier ideological position of the party’s guiding thought in social development.Media convergence makes it possible for the expansion of mass communication channels and spaces, enabling the communicators to change from fixed population to open population, enabling the communication content to change from simpleness to complexity, and enabling the communicating effect to change from being controllable to being uncontrollable. These changes have great influence on the effectiveness of Marxism popularization, requiring it to make appropriate adjustments. It has become an important research topic to change the challenges of new media to Marxism popularization to opportunity.Media convergence poses challenges that the communicating effect of Marxism popularization and the responsibility of communicator might be dispersed, but it alsogains wider audience, more extensive communication channels and more flexible means of communication. According to the new features of media convergence environment, Marxism popularization should take the Marxist communication theory as the guide, take actual social development as reference and obey the principle of communication rule, hierarchical designing the content of Marxism popularization,adopting flexible Marxism popularization modes in different fields, strengthening the coordination and cooperation between the communication subjects, and building the ideal mode of Marxism popularization under the background of media convergence.During Marxism popularization, we should play the mainstream public opinion leading role of traditional media in media convergence, adhere to the principle of party control of the media and be mainstream media oriented so as to purify media content market. We should also expand the subtle penetration of new media in media convergence, take various forms and contents as the carrier, use Marxist theory to answer questions in social development, and attach great significance to the implicit communication mode and entertainment feature of mass communication. Meanwhile,attach great significance to the feedback of communication effect, research audience psychology in accepting it, enhance the interaction level between media and audience,and improve the ability to deal with emergency events, to resolve negative public opinion and to solve practical problems. Establish the standard of Marxism popularization, construct Marxism popularization evaluation system with the effect level as the standard, and realize the communication practice standard that the audience accept it voluntarily in psychological level.The paper takes the development of media convergence as social environment and the background of era development, focusing on the research of the content of Marxism popularization, communication theory and communication mode, and supplemented with communication theory. It pays little attention to the specific technical means in communication process. The practical problems it hopes to solveare the innovation, transformation and exploration of communication mode and concept of the communicators in the process of media convergence, and the analysis of the practical meaning and fundamental aim of Marxism popularization under the background of media convergence.
