A mobile ad hoc network is a multi-hop temporary autonomous system of mobile nodes equipped with wireless transceivers and receivers. As a special wireless network without any fixed network infrastructure, it has extensive application prospect in military and civilian field. It has been a research focus in current network research. With the prevalence of multimedia application, it has gradually become an important research field to provide QoS in mobile ad hoc networks. However, mobile ad hoc networks have a lot of characteristics such as multi-hop, limited bandwidth resource and dynamic network topology. These features make it more complex to provide QoS in mobile ad hoc networks and give network researchers new challenges.Major objective of this thesis is the extensive research on how to provide routing protocols with QoS guarantee in mobile ad hoc networks by referring to current relevant research contributions.According to the features and application demands of ad hoc network, the thesis proposes a QoS routing protocol QRPPS based on comprehensive concern about path stability. The QoS routing protocol can enhance path stability of selected path and reduce the probability of link breakage resulting from host mobility because it selects path in terms of path stability. Furthermore, the introduction of a new resource reservation technology, including primary and secondary reservation, further increases request success ratio of the protocol. On the other hand, the thesis presents another QoS routing protocol QPR_RRTF based on RRTF (Route Reliable Transmission Factor). The protocol figures out RRTF of candidate paths by means of relevant information such as mobile node's location and mobility information from Global Position System (GPS). And it evaluates transmission reliability along each candidate path in terms of RRTF. That RRTF is larger indicates the established route has more reliability, and destination node selects an optimal QoS route among multiple candidate routes by comparing RRTF.Anycast service is an effective implement method of distributed services in mobile ad hoc networks. It can simplify the configuration and management of distributed services. It can further improve network robustness to use anycast services in mobile ad hoc networks with highly dynamic topology changes. According to the features of mobile ad hoc networks, the thesis proposes a new anycast QoS routing...
