Suspense is the emotional response that an audience has to situations in which an outcome is uncertain in the process of reading or watching narrative fictions. This kind of emotional response involves a Hope emotion (positive emotion)or a Fear emotion(negative emotion), as a result of fictional narrative plans, that is to say, suspense is produced by the writer or director who concealed or revealed some specific information(in general, involving dangers or desires ) in the narrative techniques of narrative fictions. We can say that suspense is cross-media , and therefore, the film's suspense has its own characteristics, meanwhile it has other fictional narrative suspense features of the common, both of them is the dissertation concerned about. Narrative Theory is the main theory resources in this paper. The article carries out at three levels: "Story", "narrative" and "the value of narrative", each aspect plays an important role to produce and maintain suspense in the film.This paper analyzes the possibilities of the film suspense in a story using Propp's "function" and Bremond concept of "sequence" theory of the "story". Then, all of the narrative film-related information is viewed as study object. A narrative suquence constitutes a logical starting point for the aspirations of the main character on the positive emotions, such as relevant, that is, the basic sequence analysed by Bremond. The first function is the "possibility", as long as there is the possibility of suspense will can be generated. Once the hero takes action to realise his aspirations, suspense arises. But the suspense will lose if not continued "the blocking factors", which become the most important to create suspense.Moreover, the nature of blocking factors will determine the strength of suspense. Narrative sequence of the suspense will be broken to create a negative impact, mainly in the evreyday life narrative, narrative of spectacle and avant-garde movies.Another question is about the information of suspense. In my opinon, the information of suspense is classified as "dangerous information", "desire for information," "Zero information" and "metaphors of information", the text points out the complexity of focusing in the film narrative and analyzes cognitive and visual focus how to participate in the formation of suspense in a film.Both the cognitive focus caused by the information with the audience knows the difference and the visual focus through the camera and the information which coused discrepant awareness are an important way to create suspense.The third question is the relationship between time and space of film and suspense in the film. Given that films are time and space art,the article analyzes the directors how to deal with time and space to produce suspense in a film.Both the timing, duration and time-frequency time have set up the possibility of participation in suspense.The relationship between the camera and the space also can create suspense. In specific scenes, the depth of the lens, soft focus and so on can be presented in the same space multiple tensions arising from the suspense. Outside the scene create suspense through the tensional relationship between the showing space and the absense space.Whether the Story or the narrative is associated with the value, in suspense fiction,the author typically provokes audience involvement in suspense through morality. In the end, the article analyzes the different types of film structure in genre film, and the emotional conventions of narrative structure may damage, even destroy film suspense. this chapter points out that the emergence of film suspense is closely related to the moral anxieties of audiences , "Crime and Punishment" is contributed to the suspense Ethics mechanisms; The mode of film suspense can be divided into type of innocent suffering, too much knowledge of type, the perfect crime and save the type, such as the type of fault, pointing out the limitations of narrative suspense film.Narrative analysis on suspense in the film would make it possible to study the film of suspense to show a new face.
