Purpose:Using the method of epidemiological cross-sectional study,we investigated the sleep quality and distribution of traditional Chinese medicine constitution of college students through a survey questionnaire, and combined with objective analysis of college students’ tongue images to explore the causes and pathogenesis of traditional Chinese medicine that affect college students’ sleep quality, providing theoretical basis for guiding college students’ sleep plans.Research methods:This study used a stratified random sampling method to conduct a sleep quality questionnaire survey on 620 college students at Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The questionnaire content includes: Basic information table for college students(basic information such as gender, age, grade, height, weight, etc.);Evaluation of sleep quality among college students: Based on the Pittsburgh sleep quality index(PSQI)and a self-designed questionnaire on sleep related factors among college students, including smoking history, drinking history, history of drinking strong tea or coffee, academic pressure, school satisfaction, professional satisfaction, physical exercise habits, average phone usage time, etc;Professor Wang Qi’s Traditional Chinese Medicine Constitution Classification Scale.Collect information on traditional Chinese medicine tongue diagnosis using a shaded mobile tongue imaging device for college students who have completed the survey questionnaire. After the collection of tongue images is completed,it is divided into two parts: expert judgment and computer quantitative analysis. The feature judgment of tongue images consists of four parts: tongue color, tongue shape, coating color, and coating quality. The feature parameters of tongue images are selected using RGB and Lab color space models for quantitative analysis of tongue images.Establish a research database and apply IBM SPSS26.0 to organize and analyze the data.Results:1.A total of 609 college students were included in this study.According to the PSQI scoring results, the incidence of poor sleep quality among college students is 21.1%.Among them, nearly 79.1% of students have daytime dysfunction,77.5% of students have extended sleep time,56.5% consciously have poor or poor sleep quality,36.4% of students have more occurrences of sleep disorders(night awakening, early awakening)than once a week,and18.6% of students have sleep efficiency less than 85%,9.3% of students have an overall nighttime sleep time of less than 6 hours, and 5.4% of students have taken sleeping pills to help them sleep.2.Age,weight,grade,physical exercise habits, smoking history, drinking history, history of drinking strong tea and coffee, and place of origin are correlated with sleep quality of college students(P<0.05);There was no correlation between gender, height,BMI,major, average mobile phone usage time, school satisfaction, major satisfaction, learning pressure, and sleep quality(P>0.05).3.Regression analysis of factors related to sleep quality among college students: Physical exercise habits, drinking history, and history of drinking strong tea or coffee are independent related factors of sleep quality(P<0.05),with an OR greater than 1 for drinking history, drinking strong tea or coffee history, and an OR less than 1 for physical exercise habits.4.According to the PSQI score group(score ≥ 7 is classified as poor sleep quality group,score<7 is classified as good sleep quality group),the results show that the constitution with the highest frequency of traditional Chinese medicine constitution in the poor sleep quality group is yang deficiency constitution,qi deficiency constitution, and qi stagnation constitution; The college students in the group with good sleep quality have the highest frequency of occurrence in terms of physical fitness, such as calmness,qi deficiency, and qi depression. The probability of poor sleep quality in college students with yang deficiency is the highest.5.There are differences in tongue imaging characteristics among different sleep qualities.Compared with the group with good sleep quality, the tongue picture of college students in the group with poor sleep quality showed an increase in the incidence of light white tongue, crimson tongue, light purple tongue, prickly tongue, and white fur, while the incidence of light red tongue and yellow fur decreased, with statistical differences(P<0.05).6.There were significant differences in tongue color R value and tongue color La between the two groups of college students in tongue quality objective parameters(P<0.05);Among the objective parameters of tongue coating, there were statistical differences in coating color B value, coating color La value, and coating color Lb value(P<0.05).Conclusion:1.The incidence of poor sleep quality among the subjects of this study is 21.1%,among which age, weight, grade, physical exercise habits, smoking history, drinking history, drinking strong tea or coffee history, and student origin factors are the influencing factors for poor sleep quality among college students.2.Biased constitution is related to insomnia in college students. The distribution of poor sleep quality in college students’ constitution from high to low is as follows: Yang deficiency,Yin deficiency,Qi stagnation, phlegm dampness, blood stasis,Qi deficiency, dampness heat, innate quality, and peaceful quality.3.Sleep quality can be reflected in tongue characteristics.Compared to the group of college students with good sleep quality, the group of college students with poor sleep quality often have light white, crimson,or light purple tongue colors, more prickly tongue texture, and whiter fur.4.The objective parameters RGB and Lab of college students’ tongue images can reflect the differences in tongue image characteristics among different sleep quality students, and have practical value in distinguishing between good and bad sleep quality. |
