Purpose:To observe the clinical efficacy of resuming the treatment of spastic paralysis after ischaemic stroke by pricking the meridian nodes, and to compare the improvement in the degree of spasticity, motor function, daily living ability, neurological deficit and TCM symptoms of patients under the effect of the two treatment modalities, with a view to providing an evidence-based basis for clinical application.Materials and methods: Sixty patients with spastic paralysis after ischaemic stroke who met the inclusion criteria were selected from the Department of Cerebral Diseases,Affiliated Hospital of Liaoning University of Chinese Medicine, and were divided into observation and control groups using the random number table method, with 30 cases in each group. The control group was treated with reference to the acupuncture points and acupuncture techniques of Meridian and Acupuncture Points(ordinary acupuncture),while the observation group was treated by resuming acupuncture of the meridian nodes, and all patients received standardized western medicine and rehabilitation treatment. The acupuncture and rehabilitation treatments were performed once a day for 5 days, with a 2-day break at the end of each session before the next session, lasting 4 weeks. Before and after treatment, patients were assessed for spasticity using the Modified Ashworth Scale(MAS),motor function using the Fugl-Meyer Motor Function(FMA)score, symptoms of neurological deficit using the Clinical Neurological Deficit Scale(NDS)(1995),ability to perform daily living(ADL)using the Barthel Index, and Chinese medicine(TCM)symptoms using the TCM Evidence Score symptoms, changes in scores before and after treatment were recorded and analysed, clinical data were tallied using SPSS 26.0 software, and all adverse events and adverse reactions that occurred during the patients’ treatment were recorded.Results:1.p>0.05,no statistical difference between the two groups in terms of gender, age, disease duration and pre-treatment MAS score,FMA score,NDS score and ADL score, and TCM evidence score, suggesting that the two groups are comparable.2.The MAS,FMA,NDS,ADL scores and TCM syndrome scores of the patients in both groups were statistically different before and after treatment,p<0.05.3.There was a statistical difference in the MAS,FMA,NDS,ADL scores and TCM evidence points between the two groups after treatment,p < 0.05.4.The total effective rate of the treatment group and the control group were 86.20% and63.30% respectively, and the treatment group was better than the control group, and the difference between the effective rates of the two groups was statistically significant,p <0.05.Conclusion:1.Resumption of acupuncture of the meridian nodes can significantly improve the patients’ spasticity, limb motor function, neurological deficit status, daily living ability and TCM symptoms, and its effect is better than that of ordinary acupuncture.2.Resumption of acupuncture of the meridian tendon nodes can significantly improve the clinical efficacy of patients with spastic paralysis after ischaemic stroke, and its effect is better than that of ordinary acupuncture.3.Resumption of acupuncture of the meridian nodes is safe for the treatment of post-ischaemic stroke spastic paralysis and can be widely used in clinical practice.
