Objective: To collect and compile theoretical literature and modern medical cases on Yin Chen Wu Ling Powder.Analyze and summarize its clinical application patterns. This includes the diseases, symptoms, etiology, pathogenesis, appropriate formulations, and modifications in herbal ingredients.Aiming to provide a more comprehensive basis for the clinical application of Yin Chen Wu Ling Powder. Methods: Employing a literature research approach, relevant discourse on Yin Chen Wu Ling Powder by esteemed medical scholars throughout different eras was gathered through perusing resources in library collections and the Chinese Medicine E-hundred website.Databases such as "Zhong Hua Yi Dian" "Duxiu" "CNKI" "Wan Fang Data" "VIP," and "Web of Science" were systematically searched to access pertinent literature.Contemporary medical cases meeting predetermined inclusion criteria were meticulously collected and selected.Microsoft Excel spreadsheets were utilized to comprehensively compile, organize, and summarize the gathered medical case information, ensuring the standardization and uniformity of the extracted data.Subsequently, tables and statistical graphs were generated based on the refined and standardized data.Utilizing the statistical outcomes,a comprehensive summary analysis was conducted using the method of frequency analysis. Results: This study has collected a total of 465 references from the "Zhong Hua Yi Dian" that are relevant to the historical texts of Yin Chen Wu Ling Powder. The theoretical materials provide detailed descriptions of the etiology and pathogenesis of Yin Chen Wu Ling Powder as described by medical experts throughout history, including conditions such as damp-heat,blood stasis,cold-dampness,lung dryness,spleen-stomach impairment, and external pathogenic factors. It is widely acknowledged in these discussions that the indications for Yin Chen Wu Ling Powder often involve disorders of the spleen.Furthermore, the formulation and compatibility of medicinal ingredients are elaborately described based on the corresponding clinical patterns. These resources offer significant theoretical foundations for the clinical application of Yin Chen Wu Ling Powder.According to the inclusion criteria, this study collected a total of 239 case report articles.Through the application of inclusion and exclusion criteria,a total of 607 cases met the inclusion criteria, while 409 cases were excluded.Finally,198 cases were selected for research analysis. These cases were derived from 140 statistical references. The data was categorized and analyzed based on variables such as gender, age, season, geographic region,Chinese and Western medical disease names, symptoms, tongue and pulse diagnosis, original herbal medicine dosage, and modifications in the prescription. The statistical results revealed the following findings: Among the 198 cases, there were 125 males, accounting for 63.13% of the total, and 73 females, accounting for 36.87%.The male-to-female ratio was approximately1.71:1.The age range of the patients varied from 3 months to 80 years, with the majority of cases occurring in the middle-aged and young adult population. In terms of seasonal and regional distribution, cases were observed in all seasons and geographic areas.Winter had the lowest incidence with 28 cases, representing 14.14% of the total, while summer had the highest incidence with 72 cases, accounting for 36.36% of the total. In terms of geographic distribution, the northeastern region had the lowest incidence with 7 cases, accounting for 3.54% of the total, while the central region had the highest incidence with 73 cases, representing 36.87% of the total.Regarding the duration of treatment, the majority of cases(63 cases)had a treatment duration of less than six months, accounting for 33.87% of the total. There were also 14 cases with a treatment duration of one week or less, representing 7.53% of the total. In terms of disease names, there were a total of 41 standardized Chinese medical disease names and 92 Western medical disease names identified through statistical analysis.Among the disease names in Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM),the most frequently encountered is jaundice, while in Western medicine, the term "jaundice-type hepatitis" appears most frequently.Within a collection of 198 clinical cases,a total of 168 categories of symptoms were observed, with an overall frequency of 1343 occurrences. The top five symptoms in terms of frequency were anorexia, jaundice of the body, jaundice of the eyes, dark urine, and profound fatigue.Regarding the examination of the tongue and pulse, the manifestation of a "red tongue" was the most prevalent, appearing 102 times, accounting for 50.50% of the cases. The observation of a "yellow greasy" coating appeared 48 times, constituting 24.24% of the cases, while the pulse quality of "wiry and slippery" was noted 25 times, amounting to 12.63% of the cases.Out of the198 clinical cases,42 cases involved the administration of compound prescriptions.Among these, the most commonly used compound prescription was "Si Ni Powder" with a total of 8 occurrences.Furthermore, there were 14 cases where the original formula of "Yin Chen Wu Ling Powder" was utilized without any modifications or combinations. In the remaining cases,a total of 177 different medicinal substances were employed with modifications or combinations, accumulating a frequency of 1383 administrations. The herb with the highest frequency of inclusion was "Bupleurum" followed by "Licorice" and "Tangerine Peel" Regarding the dosages within the "Yin Chen Wu Ling Powder" the average dosage of "Artemisiae Scopariae" was 27 g.The average dosages of "Poria" "Polyporus" "Alisma" and "White Atractylodes" ranged from 12 g to 15 g,while the average dosage of "Cinnamon Twig" was 8g.Conclusion: Based on the relevant literature from ancient medical experts regarding the Yin Chen Wu Ling Powder, this study elucidates the etiology, pathogenesis, pathological location, and herb compatibility of the Yin Chen Wu Ling Powder.By establishing a modern clinical case database and employing frequency statistics,a preliminary analysis of the clinical indications of Yin Chen Wu Ling Powder in modern clinical cases was conducted. The statistical results indicate a higher incidence of the pattern in males compared to females, with the majority of cases occurring in middle-aged and young adults, suggesting a significant influence of acquired factors on the onset of the condition.Patients were predominantly affected during the summer season, with a higher incidence in humid and hot regions, particularly in the southern parts of the country. The treatment duration with Yin Chen Wu Ling Powder and compound prescriptions was mostly within six months, indicating good clinical efficacy and practicality of this formula. The main diseases treated with this formula were liver and gallbladder disorders, but it also demonstrated effectiveness in a wide range of internal medicine conditions, including external, gynecological, and pediatric diseases, indicating its broad therapeutic scope.According to the frequency statistics,in addition to the clinical symptoms of yellowing of the eyes, yellowing of the body, and dark urine, fatigue, anorexia, and abdominal distension could also serve as clinical diagnostic evidence. The correlation between pulse and tongue manifestations confirms that a red tongue, yellow greasy coating, and wiry-slippery pulse are indicative of diseases predominantly caused by damp-heat,which can be effectively treated with Yin Chen Wu Ling Powder.Among the original dosages in the clinical cases,Artemisiae Scopariae had the highest average dosage,at 27 g.Among the compound prescriptions,Si Ni Powder appeared most frequently, and among the modified prescriptions,Bupleurum had the highest frequency, suggesting that when prescribing according to syndrome differentiation,it is essential to identify the pathological location, grasp the key etiological factors, and simultaneously consider the protection of acquired factors to achieve the dual treatment of the liver and spleen and harmonize the interdependent causes.
