| Objective: To observe the clinical effect of Fuyang cupping on Beishu Functional Belt on Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and its effect on cortisol.Methods: Sixty patients with CFS were Stochasticly split up into Fuyang cupping group(therapeutic group)and massage,chiropractic and cupping group(matched group),30 cases in each group.The therapeutic group adopted the method of Fuyang cupping,while the matched group adopted the method of massage chiropractic and cupping,15 times in each group.Serum cortisol(CORT)levels were measured by ELISA before and after treatment,and the SF-36 Health Scale(SF-36),fatigue rating Scale(FAI)and Comorbity Scale were evaluated before and after treatment,and the efficacy of the two groups was compared.Results:1、Comparison of the two groups of FAI scores(1)In the group,the results of the FAI scores declined significantly after the treatment of the two groups,and the difference was statistically significant compared to the prior treatment.(P<0.01),which shows that the two treatments are effective in improving the fatigue of CFS patients.(2)Comparison between groups,comparison of FAI scores between the two groups after treatment,P > 0.05,the difference was not statistically significant,indicating that the two therapies have the the same efficacy in improving fatigue of CFS patients.2、Comparison of two groups of SF-36 scores(1)In the group,the comparison of the two groups of the prior treatment and the after treatment of the SF-36 was significantly higher,with statistical processing,and the difference of therapeutic group(P<0.01)and matched group(P<0.01)has significant statistical significance,and it is indicated that both the method of Fuyang cupping and the method of massage,chiropractic and cupping can improve the health of the patients.(2)The SF-36 of the method of Fuyang cupping was higher comparing with the groups,and the difference between the statistics processing,(P < 0.01)was statistically significant,and the suggestion is that the method of Fuyang cupping can be more prominent in improving the health of the patients.3、The Comorbity Scale scores comparing of the two groups(1)In the group,the scores on the comorbity scale of the two groups were compared with those prior treatment,P<0.01,indicating statistically significant difference,explaining that the two treatment methods had improved comorbity scale scores of CFS patients.(2)Comparison Comorbity Scale scores between the two groups after treatment,P > 0.05,the difference was not statistically significant,suggesting that the two treatment methods for the improvement of CFS patients with Comorbity Scale is similar.4、Comparison of serum cortisol(CORT)levels between the two groups(1)Intra-group comparison showed that serum cortisol(CORT)levels in two groups increased after treatment and prior treatment(P < 0.01),indicating significant statistical significance,showing that both the method of Fuyang cupping and the method of massage,chiropractic and cupping significantly increased serum CORT levels.(2)Comparing two groups,the method of Fuyang cupping increased serum CORT levels more significantly(P < 0.01),indicating that the method of Fuyang cupping could increase serum CORT levels more.5、Comparison of clinical efficacy between the two groupsThe clinical effect of the method of Fuyang cupping was 93.10%(27/29),and that of the method of massage,chiropractic and cupping was 92.86%(26/28),Comparison of two groups(P>0.05)indicated that the clinical effect of the two therapies was the same.Conclusion:1.The curative effect of the treatment of chronic fatigue syndrome with Fuyang cupping therapy is exact and comparable to that of the treatment of massage,chiropractic and cupping.2.The mechanism of the treatment of chronic fatigue syndrome with Fuyang cupping therapy is related to the increase of serum CORT content. |
