The prevalence of autism has been on the rise in recent years,with one in 36 children aged eight now being diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder,according to the latest data released by the Centers for Disease and Prevention(CDC)on March 24,2022.According to statistics,the prevalence rate of autism in China has reached 1 percent.At present,there are more than 13 million people with autism spectrum disorder in the country,among which the number of children under 12 years old has exceeded 2 million.In the face of the current severe situation of autistic children,the CPC Central Committee and The State Council have organized and implemented three special education promotion plans since the 18 th National Congress of the CPC.In these documents,it is mentioned that to explore scientific and appropriate training methods and approaches for autistic children,actively promote individualized teaching methods,and effectively improve the targeted teaching for autistic children.Based on the above background,the author takes art class as the medium to carry out practical exploration of individualized art teaching for school-age children with autism.This study takes Qizhi School of Huangpu District,Guangzhou City as the teaching practice research base,selects 6 second-grade children with autism as the research objects,from the perspective of their own professional,combined with the needs of The Times,to help autistic children improve their aesthetic ability and integrate into society as soon as possible,selects the teaching practice of painting and handcraft courses as the research direction,and takes individual teaching as the core.In-depth understanding of students’ individual education plan and actual situation,design a series of art courses according to each student’s assessment results and preparation ability.The contents that students often see and come into contact with in life are selected as teaching materials.Based on students’ interests,resources are integrated to create a loving and warm teaching environment for them.Due to the uncontrollable epidemic,the practice course was transferred to online,and parents were invited to join the art class for autistic children,which ensured the smooth development of teaching practice and expanded the vivid practice of home-school interaction and collaborative education.In terms of curriculum evaluation and teaching reflection,students are evaluated through their normal performance,four rating scale and achievement of IEP goals,and students’ growth and progress are obtained through interviews with parents.The practice path of art teaching based on students’ individualized education plan is summarized,that is,starting from students’ actual conditions,teaching content close to students’ life is selected.At the same time,paying attention to the individual differences of students,implementing stratified teaching and paying attention to home-school linkage can effectively help students achieve their educational goals and make them learn from the appropriate educational environment and learning content.
