Research On Zhang Shibiao, A Physician In The Republic Of Chin

The Republic of China refers to a historical period from the announcement of abdication of the Qing government to the founding of New China,which lasted for 38 years from 1912 to 1949.Although the duration of the Republic of China was short,it was between the changes of modernChina.with the great changes in all aspects of Chinese society and the dramatic changes of social environment,all aspects of China presented different situations,including the medical field.After the Opium War,the government was forced to open the door,and China entered the modernperiod.Western medical thoughts flooded into China,which had a profound impact on the development of Chinese medicine at that time.The inheritance and development of traditional Chinese medicine for thousands of years have been questioned,and the western medical system has gradually taken its place.The implementation of the "Abolition of Traditional Chinese Medicine Case" has made the domestic traditional Chinese medicine community experience the most severe test of life and death in history,and traditional Chinese medicine has gradually lost its right to speak in the social environment advocating science.Under this background,traditional Chinese medicine was forced to step onto the road of spreading from middle schools to the west,seeking for self-innovation.People of insight in the academic circle of Chinese medicine have risen up to seek survival methods for Chinese medicine,and are committed to reforming traditional medicine,absorbing foreign academic ideas,setting up academic groups,and establishing academic journals,in order to promote Chinese medicine,exchange experiences,and seek long-term development of Chinese medicine.As an important part of traditional Chinese medicine,are divided into the "hysical therapy".Many physicians take it as their duty to innovate medicine,adopt western medicine anatomy to perfect the description of acupuncture points,clarify the therapeutic mechanism of acupuncture with neurovascular theory,and reform traditional medicine with scientific methods.Zhang Shibiao,a doctor in the Republic of China,is one of them.According to modern research,there were many talented acupuncturists in the Republic of China,such as Yang Yiya,Luo Zhaoju,Cheng Dan ’an,Zeng Tianzhi and others.They were the outstanding representatives of the acupuncturists at that time and left many valuable academic thoughts and clinical experience for later generations.They also played an important role in the inheritance of Chinese acupuncture academic and received the attention of the academic circles.A review of the existing acupuncture literature research results in the Republic of China has focused on these acupuncture masters,and little attention has been paid to Zhang Shibiao.This study takes Zhang Shibiao,a doctor in the Republic of China,as the research object,and extensively collects his medical works,articles and other related historical materials.We mainly take Zhang Shibiao’s works in Chinese Ancient Books of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the periodicals in the National Newspaper Index database of Shanghai Library as clues,and sort out Zhang Shibiao’s life experience and contributions to medicine by reading the original literature.Zhang Shibiao is a famous modern acupuncturist.During the Republic of China,he was the president of China Oriental Acupuncture Research Society and the director of Ningbo Jiangdong Dongfanghong Therapy Society.He hosted and founded such medical academic journals as Warm Moxibustion Medicine Newspaper,Oriental Acupuncture Medicine Newspaper,and Journal of Red Therapy,wrote and compiled many acupuncture works,and opened a correspondence class in Ningbo,Zhejiang Province to recruit students nationwide,thus becoming the first in modern acupuncture and moxibustion education.He is a doctor who can’t be ignored in the history of Chinese medicine,especially in the history of acupuncture research.Based on these historical materials,this paper uses the method of literature research to sort out and unearth Mr.Zhang’s life experience and his contribution to traditional Chinese medicine,especially acupuncture and moxibustion.The summary of Zhang Shibiao’s life and contribution through this research will be helpful to clarify the development of acupuncture and moxibustion,and provide reference for the current and future academic research of acupuncture and moxibustion.
