| Purpose:Observations of the clinical effectiveness of the eye acupuncture combined with rehabilitation training in the treatment of dysphagia after stroke highlight the significance and utility of eye acupuncture combined with rehabilitation training. The data is also utilized to back up a clinical treatment plan for dysphagia after stroke.Material and method:Patients hospitalized in the brain rehabilitation Department 2 of the rehabilitation center from January to September 2021 were chosen for this study, among which sixty patients with dysphagia after stroke were selected based on the eligibility criteria and randomly assigned to an experimental group and a control group using a random number table. Both groups of patients received basic care. The patients in the experimental group received the eye acupuncture combined with rehabilitation training, while those in the control group received the body acupuncture therapy combined with rehabilitation training. Before and after therapy, the results of the Water Swallow Test,MDADI standard Swallowing Screen, and Gugging Swallowing Screen were observed and recorded for both groups. The resulting data were collected and analyzed statistically using SPSS version 26.0,and P<0.05 demonstrated that the difference was statistically significant.Results:1.After comparing the general information of the patients in the experimental group with the control group, there has found no statistical difference in the gender, age, disease duration and stroke type of the 60 patients(P>0.05),suggesting that the two groups are comparable.2.Before treatment, the scores of the Water Swallow Test,MDADI standard Swallowing Screen, and Gugging swallowing screen(GUSS)assessment have found no statistical difference(P>0.05),suggesting that the two groups are comparable.3.After treatment, the score of the Water Swallow Test decreased in both groups compared with that before treatment(P<0.05),and the scores of the MDADI standard Swallowing Screen and GUSS increased in both groups(P<0.05),suggesting that dysphagia improved in both groups.4.After treatment, the scores of the Water Swallow Test,MDADI standard Swallowing Screen, and GUSS were substantially higher in the experimental group than in the control group(P<0.05),suggesting that the effect of the experimental group was superior to that of the control group.5.The total effective rates of the experimental group and control group were76.67% and 53.33% respectively with significant differences(P<0.05),that the effect of the experimental group was superior to that of the control group.6.During the treatment,a small hematoma occurred in the control group;no adverse effects were found in the experimental group.Conclusion:1.Both the eye acupuncture combined with rehabilitation training and the body acupuncture therapy combined with rehabilitation training were effective for dysphagia after stroke.2.Both the eye acupuncture combined with rehabilitation training and the body acupuncture therapy combined with rehabilitation training were effective in decreasing the scores of the MDADI standard Swallowing Screen and GUSS,thus improving the swallowing capability.3.The eye acupuncture combined with rehabilitation training was more effective than the body acupuncture therapy combined with rehabilitation training in the treatment of dysphagia after stroke.4.The eye acupuncture combined with rehabilitation training is convenient, quick and safe. |
