The research on Residents’ medical selection is an important field for the rational allocation of health resources, the improvement of health policies and the optimization of health service system. In terms of technology, residents’ medical selection includes at least the choice of medical institutions in the sense of hierarchical management and the choice of medical technology in the perspective of traditional Chinese and Western medicine.Medical service technology occupies a key position in the whole medical and health service system and has made incalculable contributions to solving the sufferings of the people. At present, under the background of the modernization of governance system and governance capacity, the full release of the multiple values and functions of Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM),and the resolution of disease and health risks, the research on residents’ service selection behavior of traditional Chinese and Western medicine is of great significance. However, with the implementation of the graded diagnosis and treatment system, there is a problem of insufficient order in the selection of medical institutions. At the same time,as an important part of the Healthy China Strategy,TCM has not played a full role in disease prevention and treatment. There are still deviations in the choice of medical services for residents. The proportion of traditional Chinese medicine services in the total amount of medical services is low,and there is still great potential for the development of TCM.This paper studies the residents’ choice behavior of traditional Chinese and Western medicine services and its influencing factors, guides the residents to seek medical treatment reasonably, and puts forward corresponding countermeasures and suggestions for the decision-making of health and health development, the improvement of the service capacity of TCM and the improvement of the utilization level of TCM services.Based on the theory of planned behavior and social cognition, combined with Anderson health service utilization model, this study constructs a theoretical model of residents’ service selection behavior of TCM and Western medicine.441 residents in Hunan Province were investigated by questionnaire to understand the current situation of selection behavior, and obtain the relevant data of selection behavior and influencing factors.Through descriptive statistical analysis, this paper summarizes the characteristics of residents’ service selection behavior of TCM and Western medicine in Hunan Province, and analyzes the influencing factors of residents’ selection behavior of TCM and Western medicine from three dimensions: situational characteristics, personal characteristics and medical effect by using single factor analysis and binary logistic regression. The study found that the main factors for residents to choose traditional Chinese medicine services are "small side effects" and "good treatment effect of chronic diseases",while the main reason for choosing western medicine services is "quick effect";The results of univariate analysis showed that residents with different health literacy, health risk cognition, comorbidity, disease severity and waiting time had different behavior of Western medicine service selection;Logistic regression analysis showed that age(26-35 years),health literacy(low),health belief(medium),health risk perception(medium),comorbidity and waiting timewere important influencing factors of residents’ selection behavior of TCM and Western medicine. It is suggested to give full play to the advantages and characteristics of TCM,improve the docking of medical insurance policies, and improve the utilization rate of TCM.Build a multi-party mutual promotion and peer-to-peer cooperation mechanism;Strengthen publicity and guidance to enhance the social influence of TCM.
