Purpose:The purpose of this project is to study the clinical efficacy of Modified Taohe Chengqi Decoction combined with Acupoint Application on abdominal distention and constipation after acetabular fracture during perioperative period, investigate the effect of Modified Taohe Chengqi Decoction on prevention and treatment of abdominal distention and constipation during perioperative period after acetabular fracture, then provide basis for clinical research and development. Methods: Seventy-nine patients who came to Changde Hospital affiliated to Hunan University of TCM and prepared for surgical treatment were selected, these patients were clinically diagnosed as acetabular fractures with perioperative abdominal distention and constipation. In this study, those patients were divided into control group and observation group by random comparison table method. The control group was treated with oral polyethylene glycol 4000 powder combined with raw rhubarb powder acupoint application at Shenque point to treat abdominal distention and constipation during perioperative period after acetabular fracture, and the observation group was treated with Taohe Chengqi Decoction plus acupoint application as treatment.Patients in both groups were monitored before the treatment,4 days after the treatment and a month after treatment. The detection indexes include constipation symptom evaluation, concomitant symptom evaluation and clinical efficacy. The experimental data were recorded, and the data of the two groups were compared between and within the groups to determine whether there were statistical differences. Results: After inclusion, exclusion, shedding, and termination criteria,68 patients were enrolled, with 34 patients in each group.1.There were no statistically significant differences in gender, age, and abdominal distension and constipation degree before admission between the observation group and the control group(P >0.05).2.There were significant differences in intra-group comparison before and after treatment(P< 0.05),indicating that the above symptoms could be relieved in 2 groups before and after treatment.3.4 days after treatment, there was a significant difference between the two groups in the evaluation of the main symptoms of constipation and the evaluation of the secondary accompanying symptoms of TCM syndrome(P<0.05).4.The clinical efficacy of perioperative abdominal distention and constipation after acetabular fracture was 94.1% in the observation group, and 91.2% in the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).5.After treatment, perioperative complications and recurrence rates of the observation group and the control group were compared. The observation group had fewer perioperative complications and low recurrence rates, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).6.Safety evaluation: No adverse events occurred during the study,so it is safe. Conclusion: Modified Taohe Chengqi Decoction combined with Acupoint Application has a considerable effect on perioperative abdominal distention and constipation after acetabular fracture, effectively relieving abdominal distention and constipation discomfort, reducing perioperative complications, speeding up the recovery of patients, and reducing the burden of patients.
