Objective:This study is intended to use a single-blind randomized controlled trial method to analyze whether the recurrence rate of the experimental group and the control group within half a year is statistically significant, and determine whether vitamin D supplementation can prevent the recurrence of benign paroxysmal positional vertigo. Methods: Several patients with benign paroxysmal positional vertigo were selected from the outpatient department of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery of the People’s Hospital of Gansu Province from June 2021 to March 2022.The patients with vitamin D deficiency were selected as the study subjects, and vitamin D supplementation was taken as the intervention measure. The study data were collected in a single-blind randomized controlled trial.According to the computer-generated random number table, the subjects were divided into test group and control group,A total of 110 patients were collected. The two groups were given corresponding CRP treatment, the test group was given vitamin D supplement treatment, and the control group was a blank control. After half a year of followup observation, the recurrence rate of the two groups was counted.SPSS27.0 software was used for statistical analysis, and P<0.05 indicates statistical difference.Result:1.110 patients were finally included in this study. The average age was50.86±11.90 years old,and the ratio of male to female was 1:2.6.Similar to the previous study results, the disease was more common in perimenopausal women over 40 years old.2.There was no statistically significant difference in baseline data between the two groups before treatment(P>0.05).3.The serum 25(OH)D level of about85% of BPPV patients is lower than the normal reference value, with an average of13.39±6.35ng/ml.The serum 25(OH)D level of the test group can be maintained within the normal reference value range after vitamin D supplementation treatment, while the control group 25(OH)D level is still deficient or insufficient.4.During the six-month follow-up period, the recurrence rate of patients in the test group was significantly lower than that in the control group, and with the extension of time, the difference between the two groups tended to be significant, with statistical significance(P<0.05).5.The serum 25(OH)D level of mild patients was 13.56±3.96ng/ml higher than that of severe patients 8.77±4.17ng/ml,with statistical significance between the two groups(P<0.05).6 The serum 25(OH)D level of patients with residual dizziness lasting for 1-3 days was 14.40 ± 3.52ng/ml higher than that of patients with residual dizziness lasting for more than 7 days(9.30±2.34ng/ml),with statistical significance between the two groups(P<0.05).Conclusion Vitamin D deficiency is a common phenomenon in patients with benign paroxysmal positional vertigo.Vitamin D deficiency can be corrected by vitamin D supplementation and can reduce the recurrence rate of benign paroxysmal positional vertigo patients with vitamin D deficiency.
