Objective: To observe the clinical effects of acupuncture combined with Chinese herbal wax therapy in the treatment of vertebral artery cervical spondylosis(phlegm-dampness blocking collaterals type),collect clinical data and conduct efficacy analysis, explore the correct application of this treatment in clinical practice, and provide a convenient and effective treatment plan for the clinical treatment of vertebral artery cervical spondylosis. Methods: The study enrolled 68 patients with vertebral artery cervical spondylosis(phlegm-dampness blocking collaterals type)who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. After 2 patients dropped out,66 patients were included in the statistical analysis.Using the random number table method, the patients were divided into two groups: a treatment group(acupuncture combined with Chinese herbal wax therapy,n=33)and a control group(acupuncture alone,n=33).Both groups selected Tianzhu、Bailao、Dazhu、Zusanli and Fenglong. The treatment group was treated with Chinese herbal wax therapy in addition to acupuncture, and both groups received treatment once a day for 6 consecutive days, followed by1 day of rest. Two weeks constituted one course of treatment, and two courses were given continuously. Before and after treatment, the Evaluation Scale for Cervical Vertigo(ESCV),Traditional Chinese Medicine Syndromes Score, and transcranial Doppler(TCD)examination were used to evaluate the efficacy. The efficacy indicators of each patient were observed and recorded before and after treatment. The observation results were finally analyzed by SPSS26.0 software to draw conclusions.Results:(1)The gender, age, course of disease,ESCV score,TCMSS,and TCD examination results of the two groups of patients before treatment were compared, and all were P>0.05,indicating that there was no statistical significance in the comparison of general information of the two groups before treatment;(2)The ESCV score,TCMSS,and TCD examination results within each group before and after treatment were compared, with P<0.05,indicating that the comparison within each group before and after treatment was statistically significant;(3)After treatment, the ESCV score(P<0.05)and TCMSS(P<0.05)between the two groups were statistically significant, while the TCD examination results(P>0.05)were not statistically significant;(4)The comparison between the two groups showed that the total effective rate in the treatment group was93.93% and in the control group was 63.63%,with statistical significance(P<0.05).Conclusion: Acupuncture combined with Chinese herbal wax therapy and acupuncture alone can both improve the clinical symptoms of vertebral artery cervical spondylosis, but the efficacy of acupuncture combined with Chinese herbal wax therapy is better than that of acupuncture alone. This treatment is simple and effective, with a high cure rate and long-lasting effect, and is worth promoting and using in clinical practice. |
