ObjectiveTwo sets of gelatin models with different mass fractions were prepared by deionized water,gelatin powder,and concentrated sodium solution(10%),respectively.The mechanical parameters of the two sets of models were measured,and the propagation law of pressure waves inside the elastic medium was also explored.MethodsMix deionized water,gelatin powder and concentrated sodium solution(10%)in certain ratio,prepare two groups(blank group,sodium chloride group)with mass fraction of 10%,15%,20% and 30% gelatin models,use microcomputer-controlled electronic universal testing machine to determine the elastic modulus of each group of models,generate pressure waves with percussion device,measure the size of pressure waves with electronic pressure sensors,and explore the interrelationship between pressure wave propagation process,elastic model and density.ResultsTwo groups of gelatin models with mass fractions of 10%,15%,20%,and 30% were prepared,and the elastic moduli were(blank group): 19.2 Kpa,29.8 Kpa,47.9 Kpa,136.7Kpa,and(sodium chloride group): 20.1 Kpa,30.4 Kpa,50.3 Kpa,137.1 Kpa,respectively,and the differences in elastic moduli of models with the same mass fractions between the same groups were statistical significance,the difference in elastic modulus of the model with the same mass fraction between the two groups was not statistically significant,and the effect of density on elastic modulus with the same mass fraction was not statistically significant.Under the same striking force,the larger the modulus of elastic object,the faster the pressure wave dissipates,statistically significant.ConclusionsThe higher the gelatin mass fraction,the larger the model elastic modulus,strain ≤ 0.2,the gelatin model is a linear elastic object,density has no effect on the elastic modulus.The propagation of pressure wave is negatively related to the size of elastic modulus,density has no effect on the loss of pressure wave in the propagation process,30%(sodium chloride group)model mechanical properties are closer to human muscle tissue.
