Evaluation Of Clinical Effect Of Xiaoding Ointment On Patients With Swelling Of Hemodialysis Arteriovenous Fistula

Objective: The clinical efficacy of Xiaoding ointment in the treatment of swelling in patients with arteriovenous fistula on hemodialysis was observed,and its clinical application was provided.Methods: In this study,112 patients with swelling due to arteriovenous internal fistula puncture from December 2021 to December 2022 were selected from the Department of Hemodialysis of Gansu Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine,the Blood Purification Center of the Affiliated Hospital of Gansu University of Chinese Medicine and the Blood Purification Center of the Second People’s Hospital of Gansu Province.The patients were randomly divided into a test group and a control group,with 56 cases in each group.The patients in the control group were treated with topical application of Hirudiod and the experimental group were treated with topical application of Xiaoding ointment,and the intervention was carried out in the interval of dialysis.2 weeks was considered as a time of intervention,and the patients were followed up for 3 months,and the swelling degree score,swelling extent score and visual simulation pain score before and after each intervention were observed and recorded in both groups,and the efficacy of the intervention and the incidence of related complications were evaluated.Statistical analysis was carried out via SPSS 25.0software.Results:1.A total of 112 cases were included in the study,with no shedding in both the test and control groups.There was no significant difference in age,gender,smoking history,education level,occupational status and etiology between the two groups before the intervention(P>0.05),which was comparable.2.Comparison of swelling scores: There was no significant difference in the swelling scores between the two groups before the intervention(P>0.05),which was comparable;after the intervention,the swelling scores were lower than those before the intervention,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.01).The difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05)when comparing the swelling scores at 1 week and 2 weeks of intervention.3.Comparison of swelling range scores: There was no significant difference between the two groups before the intervention(P>0.05),which was comparable;after the intervention,the swelling range scores were lower than those before the intervention,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.01).The difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05)when comparing the swelling range scores at 1 week and 2 weeks of intervention.4.Comparison of visual analogue pain scores: There was no significant difference in VAS scores between the two groups before the intervention(P>0.05),which was comparable;after the intervention,VAS scores were lower than those before the intervention,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.01).The difference in VAS scores between the two groups at 1 week and 2 weeks of intervention was statistically significant(P<0.05).5.Efficacy comparison: The difference in the total effective rate of the test group compared to the control group was statistically significant(P<0.01).6.There was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of complications such as phlebitis,stenosis,embolism and aneurysm between the two groups at 1 month,2 months and 3 months after the intervention(P>0.05),but the difference in the total incidence of complications between the test group and the control group was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion: The Xiaoding ointment is a kind of traditional Chinese medicine that can relieve the swelling,improve the pain of patients with arteriovenous fistula,improve the clinical efficacy of patients and reduce complications.
