| Objective:1.To investigate the occurrence and related factors of Parkinson’s disease(PD)patients who visited in Shanxi Bethune Hospital.2.The apathy characteristics of PD patients with different form of onset were studied to provide basis for the pathogenesis, disease monitoring and individualized treatment of PD apathy. Methods:A total of 104 PD patients were selected from the Department of Neurology of Shanxi Bethune Hospital. The enrolled patients were evaluated by the apathy scale(AS),which is recommended by the Movement Disorders Society(MDS),and divided into two groups: apathy group and non-apathy group.Demographic data, severity of motor symptoms, other common non-motor symptoms and onset forms of all the enrolled patients were analyzed. Results:Among 104 patients with Parkinson’s disease,44(42.31%)showed apathy(Table 1).Apathy patients had shorter years of education(8.75±4.22,p=0.021),higher URPDS Ⅲscore(23.59 + /-5.92 p ? 0.001),higher H-Y state(2.52±0.68,p=0.004),lower Mo CA score(23.89 + /-2.36 p ? 0.001),higher PDQ-39 score(30.45 + /-11.32 p ? 0.001).There were no significant differences between the two groups in gender, age, length of disease,or presence of anosmia.Among 104 patients with Parkinson’s disease,59 cases(56.73%)had tremor as the first symptom, but the first symptom did not affect the incidence of apathy(p=0.170).There were 62 patients(59.62%)with left side onset and the apathetic incidence of PD patients with left side onset was low(p=0.031).Conclusion:Apathy is a common non-motor symptom in PD patients who visited in Shanxi Bethune Hospital. The first symptom occurs on the right side, and patients with low education level, poor quality of life and depressive disorder are more likely to suffer from apathy in Parkinson’s disease. |
