Objective:To compare the short-term efficacy and cost of self-expanding metallic stent(SEMS)and transanal drainage tube(TDT)in the treatment of sigmoid carcinoma complicated with acute ileus. Methods:The clinical data of 68 patients with sigmoid carcinoma complicated with acute ilobstruction admitted to the First Affiliated Hospital of Shanxi Medical University from October 2020 to October 2022 were retrospectively analyzed. They were divided into SEMS group(40 cases)and TDT group(28 cases)according to preoperative decompression methods, and the short-term efficacy and cost of the two groups were compared. Results:The technical success rate(92.5% vs.100.0%,P>0.05)and clinical response rate(87.5% vs.89.3%,P>0.05)of the SEMS group were similar to those of the TDT group; The relief time for abdominal pain and bloating in the SEMS group((14.31 ± 1.64)hours vs.(24.04 ± 2.23)hours,P<0.05),and preoperative preparation time((4.69 ±1.11)days vs.(6.96 ± 1.21)days,P<0.05)were significantly shorter than those in the TDT group. There was no statistically significant difference between the two groups in terms of postoperative recovery time, incidence of postoperative complications, and total hospital expenses. Conclusion:Both SEMS and TDT have higher safety and efficacy as preoperative decompression methods for sigmoid carcinoma complicated with acute intestinal obstruction. However, the time to abdominal pain relief and preoperative preparation was shorter in the SEMS group, and the quality of life was higher. |
