Objective:After analyzing the aesthetic evaluation, occurrence of complications, and satisfaction of patients with both the physiology-mimic double eyelid blepharoplasty by relocating and reconnecting of aponeurotic flap with tarsus(floating bridge-skin suture)and the traditional incisional double eyelid surgery(levator aponeurosis-skin suture),we will explore the clinical value of the levator aponeurosis reset method of mimetic double eyelid surgery. Methods:Selected according to inclusion criteria,60 patients who underwent upper eyelid blepharoplasty in the outpatient department of the author’s hospital from November 2021 to November 2022 were randomly divided into two groups: the floating bridge method group of the physiology-mimic double eyelid blepharoplasty by relocating and reconnecting of aponeurotic flap with tarsus, and the traditional method group of the conventional upper eyelid blepharoplasty, with 30 cases in each group.Apart from the difference in the surgical techniques, both groups underwent the same treatments.Follow-up and photography were conducted at 1 week,1 month, and 6 months after the surgery, and aesthetic evaluation, complication occurrence, and patient satisfaction were scored and recorded for both groups. The data were statistically analyzed using SPSS27.0 software.Results:1.The aesthetic evaluation of upper eyelid morphology in the physiology-mimic double eyelid blepharoplasty by relocating and reconnecting of aponeurotic flap with tarsus technique group was significantly higher than that in the traditional incision group at 1 and 6 months postoperatively(P < 0.05).2.The total incidence of aesthetic-related complications in the group treated with the physiology-mimic double eyelid blepharoplasty by relocating and reconnecting of aponeurotic flap with tarsus(16.67%)was significantly lower than that in the group treated with the traditional incision method(46.67%),with a statistically significant difference(P < 0.05).There was no statistically significant difference between the two groups in terms of the incidence of complications related to eyelid function.3.The total satisfaction in the physiology-mimic double eyelid blepharoplasty by relocating and reconnecting of aponeurotic flap with tarsus technique group was significantly higher than that in the traditional incision group(P < 0.05).Conclusion:In both professional aesthetic evaluations and self-evaluations by those seeking beauty, the physiology-mimic double eyelid blepharoplasty by relocating and reconnecting of aponeurotic flap with tarsus technique for creating a natural-looking double eyelid has received higher praise compared to the traditional incision method. The former offers advantages such as faster postoperative recovery, minimal surgical scarring, aesthetically pleasing and natural-looking double eyelids,as well as more stable clinical results and increased satisfaction rates. Therefore, this surgical technique has significant clinical application and promotional value. |
