Objective: The expression of S100A7 protein in cervical tissues, cervical intraepithelial lesions grade Ⅱ-Ⅲ(CINⅡ-Ⅲ)and cervical squamous carcinoma tissues was measured. The expression of S100A7 protein in cervical squamous carcinoma was statistically analyzed in combination with several clinicopathological indicators to identify the main clinical significance of S100A7 protein.Clinical specimens were divided into those with high-risk human papilloma virus(HR-HPV)infection and those with no human papilloma virus(HPV)infection. The expression of S100A7 protein was compared to clarify the relationship between S100A7 protein and HR-HPV infection. Methods: A total of 146 specimens with surgical resection for uterine fibroids,CINⅡ-Ⅲ and cervical squamous carcinoma from May 2016 to April 2021 were selected from the Department of Gynecology,Affiliated Hospital of Qingdao University. The expression of S100A7 protein in different cervical tissues was detected by immunohistochemistry and semi-quantitative analysis was performed to investigate the differences in S100A7 protein expression in different cervical tissues.Clinical data of patients with squamous cervical cancer were collected and collated, and the relationship between the expression of S100A7 protein in squamous cervical cancer and clinicopathological indicators such as differentiation degree, tumor size,FIGO stage, lymph node metastasis and choroidal carcinoma embolism was analyzed. The cervical tissues were divided into HR-HPV-infected and non-HPV-infected groups according to the preoperative HPV genotyping quantitative test results or HPV 2nd generation hybridization capture test results to explore the correlation between S100A7 protein and HR-HPV infection. Results: 1.Immunohistochemical assay results showed that S100A7 protein was mainly located in the nucleus and cytoplasm of cervical squamous carcinoma cells. The expression of S100A7 protein was significantly higher in CINⅡ-Ⅲ tissues and cervical squamous carcinoma tissues, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The expression of S100A7 protein was significantly higher in CINⅡ-Ⅲ tissues than in cervical squamous carcinoma tissues, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).2.In cervical squamous carcinoma tissues, the expression of S100A7 protein was associated with tumor differentiation and lymph node metastasis, but not with tumor size,FIGO stage or vascular carcinoma embolism.3.The expression of S100A7 protein was higher in CINⅡ-Ⅲ tissues with HR-HPV infection than in CINⅡ-Ⅲ tissues without HPV infection, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).4.When the HR-HPV-infected groups were analyzed,S100A7 protein expression was not significantly different between the single HR-HPV-infected and multiple HR-HPV-infected groups(P > 0.05);S100A7 protein expression did not correlate with HR-HPV type(P > 0.05);S100A7 protein expression did not correlate with HR-HPV load.(P > 0.05).Conclusions: 1.S100A7 protein expression was increased in CINⅡ-Ⅲ tissues and cervical squamous carcinoma tissues, and was involved in the development of cervical lesions.2.S100A7 protein expression in cervical squamous carcinoma was associated with differentiation and lymph node metastasis of cervical squamous carcinoma, and S100A7 protein may be involved in regulating tumor differentiation and metastasis.3.HR-HPV infection group in CINⅡ-Ⅲ tissues S100A7 protein expression was significantly increased in CINⅡ-Ⅲ tissues, and S100A7 protein may play an important role in the early progression of HPV infection-associated cervical lesions. |
