| In recent years, more and more children with autism have appeared in the public eye,and the number of diagnoses continues to rise.At present, there is no targeted cure for autism treatment, and the vast majority of autistic children have serious motor development loss with the continuous aggravation of symptoms, which is mainly manifested in retardation or loss of gross motor development, which further affects the development of daily life of autistic children.Adaptive physical activities are physical activities in the basic forms of walking, climbing, running, jumping and throwing. The content of adaptive physical activities is mostly presented in the form of sports games with various methods and strong interest. In order to confirm that adaptive physical activities promote gross motor development, this empirical study was conducted.Research objective: To develop the gross motor ability of autistic children through adaptive physical activities, improve students’ strength, agility, balance, coordination, endurance and other qualities, promote the development of bones, muscles and nerves of autistic children, and lay a foundation for the recovery of physical functions of autistic children.According to the actual characteristics of autistic children and the principles of adaptive sports, physical activity courses for the gross motor development of autistic children are designed to strengthen the gross motor ability of autistic children, improve the defective behaviors of autistic children, and gradually move towards normal life. Therefore, autistic children aged 5-7 years old were selected as research objects in this study and randomly divided into experimental group and control group.Mathematical statistical analysis was conducted within and between groups to explore the effects of adaptive physical activities on gross motor development of autistic children after horizontal and vertical comparison before and after exercise intervention.Research methods: This paper conducted an empirical study on autistic children by means of literature, interview, experiment and mathematical statistics.By reviewing relevant literature and materials, the topic selection was demonstrated, and relevant experts and teachers were interviewed and consulted to develop reasonable curriculum content of adaptive physical activity.Sixteen autistic children were randomly divided into experimental groups. The experimental group(n=8)participated in the adaptive physical activity course, while the control group(n=8)participated in the regular physical activity course. The gross motor ability of autistic children was tested by the second version of the gross motor test score scale,so as to explore whether the adaptive physical activity intervention can significantly improve the gross muscle development of autistic children. Results: After the 12-week experiment, data analysis found that; Both the intervention group of adaptive physical activity course and the control group of routine physical activity course improved the total score of gross movement and its subscale scores, and the children in the experimental group improved significantly in the body displacement movements of running, standing long jump, stride jump and hop compared with the control group(P < 0.01).Compared with the control group, children in the experimental group had significant improvement in the basic movements such as two-handed ball catching, bocce ball and overhand ball throwing(P< 0.05).Conclusion:(1)Adaptive physical activity has a positive effect on body displacement ability and the effect is significant;Especially running, jumping on one foot, stride jumping, standing long jump and so on.(2)Adaptive physical activity has a significant effect on object control ability;Especially twohanded catch, bocce ball, overhand bowling, hitting fixed ball and other actions. |
