| Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of Meridian lingers acupuncture method combined with exercise therapy in the treatment of lumbar disc herniation. Methods:This research selected ninety patients with clinically diagnosed lumbar disc herniation from September 2021 to January 2023 in outpatient and inpatient settings of Guangdong Clifford Hospital, and then randomly divided them into a combined treatment group and a control group with 45 cases in each.As to the control group, the patients were treated with conventional lumbar spine exercise therapy and acupuncture treatment concurrently, which was performed with normal acupuncture selection method at lumbar.Such treatment would allow patients to conduct daily life and work activities.Regarding the combined treatment group, the same instruction was adopted with the same conventional exercise therapy;besides, the acupuncture treatment based on the Meridian lingers acupuncture conducted to achieve meridian and syndrome differentiation treatment.Following the treatment of lasting six months, the research collected the results of the treatment, the JOA(Japanese Orthopedic Association)Evaluation Treatment score of lumbar spine scores, the Oswestry Disability Index(ODI),the Visual Analogue Scale(VAS),the lumbar back muscle strength tests, the abdominal muscle strength tests, and the lumbar spine mobility tests, etc.from both groups. Results:In the control group,5 cases were cured,14 cases were notably effective,13 cases were effective,13 cases were invalid, and the total number of effective cases was 32,representing a 71.11% of treatment efficiency rate.Whereas in the combined treatment group,13 cases were cured,19 cases were notably effective,10 cases were effective,3 cases were invalid, and the total number of effective cases was 42,representing a 93.33% of treatment efficiency rate.It was self-evident that the effective rate was significantly higher in the treatment group than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05).While the differences in terms of JOA score,ODI score and VAS score between the two groups before treatment were not statistically significant(P < 0.05);on the other hand, the JOA score in the combined treatment group was significantly higher than that in the control group after treatment, and both the ODI score and VAS pain score were notably lower than those in the control group, and therefore, the differences were statistically significant(P < 0.05);Additionally,the lumbar spine mobility, lumbar back muscle and abdominal muscle strength in the the combined treatment group after treatment were significantly greater than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P < 0.05).Conclusion : The meridian lingers acupuncture method combined with exercise therapy showcased more prominent efficacy. The efficacy was better than that of the general acupuncture combined with exercise therapy. And hence,it has notable clinical significance and promotion merit. |
