Objective Through a systematic literature search, this study summarized the best evidence and preliminarily developed a nurse-led health education model for newly diagnosed patients with type 2 diabetes. At the same time, the draft of the health education model was modified through the expert meeting method, and finally a whole-process and standardized health education process was established for the special population of newly diagnosed type 2diabetes patients, and it also provided a reference for health education of other types of diabetes patients.Methods1.A nurse-led health education model, based on evidence, for newly diagnosed type 2diabetes patients is being constructed.(1)Gaining an understanding of evidence-based techniques is essential;summarizing the current research and issues in health education for newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes patients both domestically and abroad through literature search is also essential. The quality and grade of the literature included should be judged by summarizing the most pertinent evidence, and the draft of the health education model should be created;(2)Revise the specific items of the first draft through the expert meeting method, and finally complete the construction of the health education model. The author evaluates the science and rationality of the expert meeting method by calculating the expert authority coefficient.2.Clinical application research(1)A total of 74 patients diagnosed with newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes from March to December 2022 in the endocrinology department of a tertiary hospital in Chifeng City were selected as the study objects.Subjects were randomly divided into intervention group and control group according to inclusion and exclusion criteria.(2)Routine group was given routine diabetes health education, and the intervention group was given a nurse-led health education model based on evidence-based construction;(3)Verifying the clinical application effect of health education,SPSS26.0 software was utilized for statistical processing, comparing the glucose metabolism index,self-management behavior, cognition of basic knowledge of diabetes, quality of life, incidence of diabetes-related complications and number of re-hospitalization of patients in the two groups.Results1.During the study period,1 patient in the intervention group voluntarily withdrew and 1patient in the control group was lost to follow-up.Therefore,a total of 72 newly diagnosed patients with type 2 diabetes were included in this study, including 36 in the intervention group and 36 in the control group.2.After statistical comparison, there was no significant difference in the general clinical data between the intervention group and the control group(P > 0.05)upon statistical comparison.Prior to the intervention,no significant disparities were observed in the scores of glucose metabolism index, diabetes basic knowledge level,self-management ability, and quality of life scale(P > 0.05),thus making them comparable. The intervention group’s control ability of glucose metabolism indexes was superior to that of the control group, and their scores on the scales were higher than those of the control group,a difference that was statistically significant(P<0.05).Moreover,the intervention group’s number of complications and re-hospitalization was lower than the control group’s.Conclusion To construct nurse-led health education models for newly diagnosed type 2diabetes patients,evidence-based nursing and expert meeting methods are both scientifically and effectively employed. This can significantly reduce glucose metabolism index and enhance self-behavior.It can provide theoretical basis for health education of newly diagnosed patients with type 2 diabetes. At the same time,it also expands the current diabetes health education model. It is worth promoting and using in clinical practice.
