Objective:Efforts in sorting out the proven literature of the "Traditional Chinese Medicine Prescriptions Donation Movement" in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region were to fill the gap in the Inner Mongolia section of the said Movement in the history of contemporary medicine, compile the proven prescriptions and secret recipes of well-known Chinese medicine practitioners, carry forward and enrich their academic experience, and encourage workers in the field to excavate more proven prescriptions, thereby charting course for its contemporary clinical application. Methods:In this study, literature research method and statistical analysis method compiled, counted, dissected and summed up four collections of proven prescriptions and concluded the following outcomes.Results:1.Four monographs dedicated to prescriptions during the Prescription Donation Movement in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region were gathered, namely "Traditional Chinese Medicine Proven Prescription Collection(Ⅰ)","Traditional Chinese Medicine Proven Prescription Collection(Ⅱ)","Baotou Traditional Chinese Medicine Prescription Collection","Baotou Traditional Chinese Medicine Prescription Collection(Second Series)".2.3,679 prescriptions were compiled from the aforementioned four works, with more than 210,000 words(213,001)of proven prescriptions recorded.3.Of 65 famous Chinese and Mongolian doctors picked out,64 were from Central Plains, and 1 from the Inner Mongolia.12 donated 10 or more prescriptions, and 15 offered 1.Among the top ten donators with the most prescriptions:Qian Wenting offered 94,Chen Qinglian offered 48,Bai Zhijiong offered 26,Liu Yushu offered 14,Yuan Yinfang offered 13,Cui Yaozong offered 12,Zhang Hongxin offered 12,Wanshouxuan offered 11,Wang Yinqing offered 11,Wang Yuewu offered 11.4.443 Chinese and Mongolian medical prescriptions were compiled in total.Conclusion:1.Characteristics of the four collections:Most of the donations were on internal diseases, both in types and numbers, followed by surgery, gynecology, and pediatrics, with relatively few on departments of facial features and acupuncture.Diseases in "Traditional Chinese Medicine Prescription Collection(Ⅰ)" and"Traditional Chinese Medicine Prescription Collection(Ⅱ)" were mainly classified by names. In specific structure, both the two packed up major functions, prescriptions, usage, donator, and even precautions, editor’s note in some.Details on contraindications to oral medication, addition and subtraction of medication, and prognosis of the disease were made in the precaution part;while the section of the editor’s note laid emphasis on medication safety, and listed reliable advice on dosage selection. Many lost contributions are also available in the works."Baotou Traditional Chinese Medicine Prescription Collection" and "Baotou Traditional Chinese Medicine Prescription Collection(Second Series)" divided diseases turning to a combination of TCM disease names and modern medical disease callings;More precise and elaborate are types of diseases included, however less are prescriptions found there. In"Baotou Traditional Chinese Medicine Prescription Collection",major functions, prescriptions, usage, contributors are covered, and some also include curative effects, addition and subtraction, cases, contributor’s notes, and editor’s notes.Prescriptions were written in a relatively active tone.Similarly, there are also a small number of lost prescriptions. The editor’s note explains the source and curative effect of some proven secret prescriptions,in addition to valuing the safe dosage, and briefly analyzes the syndrome and treatment of some presented prescriptions."Baotou Traditional Chinese Medicine Prescription Collection(Second Series)" features lively style in the clinical experience part and exhaustive indications, prescriptions, and usage; It specified treatment cases and quantified the curative effect of the proven prescriptions.Individual clinical experiences were attached.Prescriptions donated by medical institutions stands at 90.7%,with high feasibility and clinical value. The secret prescription part includes indications, prescriptions, usage, and donors.A few also cover curative effects, and the presentation style is more rigorous. This "Second Series" has a one-to-one correspondence with the names of prescriptions, and registers no lost prescriptions.2.Prescriptions for dysentery in internal medicine, and for measles and pertussis in pediatrics were found in large number, which is speculated that measles, pertussis, and dysentery may have been widely diagnosed in Inner Mongolia in the 1950s,reflecting the relatively low planned immunization and public health back then.3.Characteristics of the contributors:① Both doctors from Central Plains and Inner Mongolia contributed, including many famous ones such as Chen Qinglian,Liu Jimin,Dong Shushan,Qian Wenting,Bai Zhijiong from Central Plains and Yu Qingxiang in local area.Donations from established clinics and folks were also found.②Individual donations accounted for a large part, followed by unit donations(contributions in the name of the unit). The least amount were by region,non-governmental and joint donations(joint donations by two people).4.Clinical law of donated prescriptions:the traditional Chinese medicine of fungus finds its use in treating hand and foot spasms, while the root bark shines on curing intestinal wind and blood. For the collection of proven prescriptions during the Movement, the unit of measurement should be in "5 grams".
