Objective: In ancient Chinese society, the type of "occupation" people engaged in was often determined by their status or status level, and there were strict industry barriers between industries that could not be passed down from generation to generation. After the end of the Tang Dynasty, there was convergence and compatibility between industries. In the course of the overall "occupation" division in ancient Chinese society,it was always subdivided on the basis of Scholar-gentry,peasants,craftsmen,merchants,and there was inheritance and relative stability among industries.People engaged in the same industry because of the working environment, labor intensity and lifestyle are similar, often appear the same type of group disease, that is,equivalent to the "occupational disease" in today’s society. From the perspective of traditional Chinese medicine, combined with the history of medical society and science and technology, this study takes the typical "occupational" group of scholars, farmers and workers as an example to discuss the frequent, common health problems and labor injuries in the group. It is hoped to enrich the contents of medical and social history in order to provide reference for the prevention and treatment of some diseases today. Methods: Using "occupation","occupational disease","occupational injury","ancient Chinese occupation","four people" as keywords, the search was carried out in the databases of Zhiwei,Wanfang,Weipu,Duxiu, etc.,and the data of diseases and injuries closely related to the profession in medical and non-medical literature were systematically sorted out by means of induction and document analysis.By consulting the medical records collection such as "Famous Medical Cases are being Continued","Ancient and Modern Medical Records" and other databases such as ancient and modern medical records cloud platform,we can trace the medical records, master first-hand medical records data, collect typical medical records related to "occupational" injuries, and sort out and analyze typical "occupational" injury and illness medical records through literature and statistical analysis. To explore the common health problems and prevention measures of people in different trades in ancient society. Results: Through literature review, the paper systematically sorted out the social structure of ancient China and the basis and development of "occupation" in ancient China. It is found that the "occupation" of ancient Chinese society is generally divided in detail on the basis of scholars, farmers, workers and businessmen, and their "occupation" groups have similar working environment, work nature and characteristics,so they are prone to similar diseases or suffer from the same labor injuries.1.Taking the scribes as an example, their typical characteristics are thinking more, being more depressed, less moving, and exhausting the mind and spirit. The main pathogenic factors were emotional internal injury and overexertion, among which overexertion was an important cause.Excessive exertion is easy to consume heart and spirit, and even involves the five viscera, resulting in the imbalance of Qi and blood Yin and Yang, and stroke, vertigo, epistaxis, spermatospermia and other symptoms;Multiple internal emotional injury, withdrawal of camp,qi depression and other symptoms.Prevention and treatment focus on regulating the heart, spleen and kidney, pay attention to emotional therapy.2.Agriculture,take farming farming as an example, farming farming, working as the main business, belongs to the exploited, often hungry, resulting in spleen and stomach hormone deficiency. In the medical literature, the diseases related to farming also have the factor of spleen and stomach deficiency, which are represented by yellow fat and heat stroke.Secondly, physical labor is the main work content of farming, and excessive labor is easy to damage the muscles and bones, dissipate the vitality, and there are more symptoms such as damaged tendons, tendons, and deficiency. In addition, the working environment of farmers has a greater impact on their health, representing diseases such as fecal infection and water sores.3.Taking artisans as an example, sorted out various risk factors and common health problems in ancient artisans’ production operations, and analyzed them.In ancient times, the lack of protective measures,long-term exposure to the harsh production environment will have such as deep well poison, toxic depression, cold and damp invasion, dust damage to the lung and other injuries;Exposure to toxic metals, minerals, drugs, etc.,can also cause litmus and drug gas poisoning.4.The article does not cover the research on the common health problems and prevention of business people,so the research is insufficient. Most businessmen live in uncertain places, lack specific working environment and pathogenic factors and characteristics, and it is difficult to determine that the diseases of businessmen are directly related to their "occupation" in the medical literature. There are also few materials available for studying the common and frequent diseases of businessmen,so it is not discussed. Conclusion: From the perspective of traditional Chinese medicine, combined with the history of medical society and science and technology, this paper discusses and studies the frequently-occurring diseases of typical occupational groups in ancient China.Linking medicine with the "occupation" in ancient Chinese society is not only a supplement to the history of medical society, but also can learn from the past and present, and provide new ideas and reference therapy for the treatment and prevention of some "occupation" diseases.
