Correlation Study Of Colonic Multiple Polyps And Traditional Chinese Medicine Constitution

Objective: In this study,the general information of 300 patients with multiple polyps of colon and the physical conditions of traditional Chinese medicine were collected for statistical analysis to identify the relationship between colon polyps and physical conditions.The purpose of this study is to regulate physical conditions with the guiding ideology of "treatment based on syndrome differentiation","prevention before disease","prevention after disease" and "prevention and recovery after disease",so as to achieve "early prevention,middle intervention and late remission".Physical factors determine the tendency of disease,so early intervention should be carried out to adjust the biased constitution,in order to enhance their own physique,so as to reduce the susceptibility to disease.Due to the insidious onset of colon polyps,they are already established when found and seriously affect human health.Therefore,this study takes this as the original intention,aiming to explore the correlation between multiple colon polyps and TCM constitution,and provide diagnosis and treatment ideas for clinical diagnosis and treatment.Methods: A total of 300 patients with multiple colon polyps diagnosed by colonoscopy in the geriatrics treatment area and outpatient department of the Affiliated Hospital of Changchun University of Chinese Medicine(Jilin Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine)from June 2021 to November 2022 were collected,and their basic information including name,age and gender were collected.Examination results: The number of colon polyps,pathological diagnosis results.Based on the Classification and Judgment of TCM Constitution issued by the China Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 2009,a questionnaire survey was conducted on the TCM Constitution Classification Scale for patients meeting the inclusion criteria,and the types of patients’ constitution were determined according to the calculation method.All the above information was recorded into Excel for data display.SPSS 21.0 was used to conduct statistical analysis on the relationship between colon polyps and TCM constitution,and to study their correlation.Results:1.General information: Among the 300 cases included in this study,there were 152 male patients(50.7%)and 148 female patients(49.3%),with a male-female ratio close to1:1.Pearson X2 test was used,P=0.043<0.05,which was statistically significant.The results showed that there were significant differences in the physical distribution of the sexes.Male patients were more likely to see Yang deficiency and female patients were more likely to see Qi deficiency.The age distribution of the patients was 32-86 years old,the mean age was 59.67 years old,and the standard deviation was 10.36.According to the age classification method of the World Health Organization,19 patients were young(14-44 years old),118 patients were middle aged(45-59 years old),and 146 patients were early aged(60-74 years old).Senior citizens(75-89)had 17.The largest number of patients was distributed between the ages of 60 and 74.Fisher exact probability test was used,X2=38.384,P=0.000<0.05,which was statistically significant.It indicates that age is different in the physical distribution of patients with colon polyp.In youth,the proportion of peaceful quality,that is,normal constitution is more,in middle age,peaceful quality and Qi deficiency are common,and in old age,Yang deficiency and Qi deficiency are more common.2.Distribution law of TCM physique types: According to the results of the questionnaire,300 patients with colon polyps were divided into 4 types of physique,and the distribution law was as follows: 37 cases(12.3%)with mild quality,32 cases(10.7%)with basically mild quality;199 cases(66.3%)were biased and 32 cases(10.7%)were biased.The following are the specific physical distribution rules of the four physical types:(1)There were 32 cases(10.7%)with basic peace quality.The distribution pattern of basic peace quality tended to be biased: Qi-deficiency quality 28.1%> Yin-deficiency quality 25.0%> Yang-deficiency quality 21.9%> phlegm-dampness quality 12.5%> special quality 6.3%> Qi-stagnation quality 3.1%= blood-stasis quality 3.1%> moisture-heat quality0%.Among them,there were 9 cases(28.1%)of concurrent body constitution and 23cases(71.9%)of single body constitution.The ratio of concurrent body constitution to single body constitution was 1:2.6.(2)There were 231 biased samples(77.0%),and the distribution law was as follows:Yang deficiency quality: 79 cases(34.2%)> Qi deficiency quality: 61 cases(26.4%)> Yin deficiency quality: 44 cases(19.1%)> Yin deficiency quality: 16 cases(6.9%)> Phlegmdampness quality: 14 cases(6.0%)> Qi stagnation quality: 12 cases(5.2%)> damp-heat quality: 5 cases(2.2%)> blood stasis quality: 0 cases(0%).Among them,120 cases(51.9%)had single constitution and 111 cases(48.1%)had mixed constitution.(3)A total of 199 cases(66.3%)were biased,including 107 cases(53.8%)with single constitution and 92 cases(46.2%)with mixed constitution.In the single constitution,Yang deficiency 31.8%> Qi deficiency 24.3%> Yin deficiency 20.6%> characteristic quality9.3%> Phlegm-dampness 7.5%> moisture-dampness 0.9%.(4)There were 32 samples(10.7%)with the tendency to be biased,among which 19cases(59.4%)had concurrent constitution and 13 cases(40.6%)had single constitution.Among the concurrent constitution,Yang deficiency and Yin deficiency were the main constitutions,and the rest were hot and humid,Qi-deficiency and Qi-stagnation.In the13 cases of single constitution,Qi-deficiency was the most common,with 10 cases(76.9%),followed by yin-deficiency in 2 cases(15.4%)and Yang-deficiency in 1 case(7.7%).Conclusion:1.The prevalence of colon polyps in males is slightly higher than that in females.Male patients had more Yang deficiency and female patients had more Qi deficiency.The elderly population is the high incidence of the disease.Regardless of male or female patients,Yang deficiency and Qi deficiency throughout the whole age.2.The main constitution types of patients with colon polyps are Yang deficiency,followed by Qi deficiency and Yin deficiency.The proportion of single constitution and double constitution was almost the same among the four types of constitution.
