Cancer is the most obvious disease of the current cultural burden. It has been endowed with cultural curses and moral metaphors with serious stigmatization. The public has gradually formed the wrong disease cognition that cancer is equal to shame. The mass media and some public platforms(crowdfunding, etc.)have a single rigid and subjective perspective on the image of cancer patients, and cancer patients are in a state of collective aphasia. At present, the country is in a period of rapid development and transformation, and the sense of security of cancer patients is generally lacking, often in a passive and fragile situation. The new cases of cancer patients in China are at the forefront of the world, and the survival and healing of cancer patients have become the core issue of society. With the popularity of social media, social media platforms such as Douyin have built a media-based living environment.More and more cancer patients communicate with each other through social media platforms,so that the original private and hidden individual disease experience has become a shared disease experience, forming a new media landscape. This paper selects the video content text published by the patients with douyin cancer as the research object, and uses Nvivo12 software to encode and analyze the research samples to form the basic ’ story line ’ of the self-presentation of cancer patients on the douyin platform. The main body of this paper is divided into four parts.Firstly,in the first chapter, the social media platform is embedded in the expansion of the living space of cancer patients and the construction of social relations;the basic characteristics and performance window of Douyin cancer patients were summarized. The second chapter analyzes the ’ self-narration ’ of cancer patients from three aspects, including the construction of the image of self and others and the cognition of their own pain. The third chapter analyzes the motivation and logic of media practice of Douyin cancer patients from the perspectives of ’ self-identity ’,’ social support ’,’self-resistance ’ and ’ self-worth ’,and demonstrates the ’ self-redemption ’ behavior of cancer patients using media. The fourth chapter reflects on the media practice of cancer patients, and analyzes the constraints of cancer patients ’ self-redemption through ’self-narrative ’ from the perspectives of ’ labor alienation ’,’ privacy infringement ’ and ’limited content production of cancer patients ’.Finally, from the three levels of family, platform and media, the outside world is proposed to help cancer patients achieve ’self-redemption ’.By studying the ’ self-narration ’ and ’ self-redemption ’ of cancer patients on the Tik Tok platform, the reality of the spread of cancer-like severe diseases is reflected on the reverse side, revealing the important position of online social media platforms in the dissemination of disease knowledge. At the same time,it also presents the multiple relationships between patients, diseases, media and society in the category of cancer diseases. At the same time, this study also has certain social significance for the public to use online social media platforms to assist in the treatment of self-physical and psychological diseases.
