Chinese medicinal materials are the material basis for the inheritance and development of traditional Chinese medicine. Its quality is directly related to the clinical efficacy and drug safety. The quality of medicinal materials was different due to the differences of different varieties, origin, collection, processing, and storage. At the same time, for some medicinal materials, there are adulteration problems such as shoddy, fake. At present, empirical identification methods and chemical analysis techniques are mainly used for the quality identification of Chinese medicinal materials.Empirical identification is simple and easy, but it is easy to be interfered by subjective factors. The accuracy of chemical detection technology is relatively high, but there are shortcomings such as high detection cost, tedious operation, dependence on instruments and long time. Therefore, there is an urgent market demand to develop a rapid,non-destructive and high accuracy method for rapid detection of Chinese medicinal materials. In this study,Tiegun Yam,Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium, raspberry and Coix seed were selected as the research objects, samples from different sources were collected, and hyperspectral imaging technology combined with a variety of chemometric methods were used for pattern recognition of medicinal materials from different sources. The results showed that the discriminant accuracy of the models of Tiegun Yam,Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium and raspberry from different producing areas could all reach more than 90%.Meanwhile,the models of the aging year of Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium and the storage life of Coix seed also had good discriminant results. In this study, the prediction model of index component content of several medicinal materials was further established.Residual predictive deviation(RPD)of the models were all over 2.5,which showed that the model had good performance.Effective pretreatment method, model parameter tuning and band fusion modeling may improve the accuracy of the model. At the same time, the selection of characteristic wavelength greatly reduces the complexity and running time of the model, improves the operation efficiency, and can even achieve the effect similar to that of the full-band modeling. The hyperspectral combined chemometric method established in this study can realize the nondestructive rapid identification and quantitative evaluation method of various Chinese medicinal materials in the field, and provide a feasible technical scheme for the quality evaluation of Chinese medicinal materials in the field.
