Objective: This study aims to investigate the current situation of mental health of nurses in military hospitals, explore the influencing factors of mental health of nurses in military hospitals and the influence degree of each factor, and provide reference for formulating intervention measures to improve the level of mental health of nurses in military hospitals,so as to improve the level of nursing management in military hospitals. Methods: This study is a descriptive study, and 699 clinical nurses in a military general hospital are selected as research objects by convenience sampling method.Electronic questionnaires were distributed and collected through questionnaire star link, including the general situation questionnaire,self-assessment of Psychological Symptoms Scale, the Cattell 16 personality questionnaire, the simple coping style questionnaire, the and the Chinese Nurses Job Stressors Scale.SPSS 22.0 was used for data analysis, and frequency, component ratio, and mean ± standard difference were used for descriptive statistical analysis.Spearman correlation test was used to analyze the correlation between military nurses’ mental health and stressors, personality traits and coping styles.Kruskal-Wallis H test and multiple stepwise regression were used to analyze the factors affecting the mental health of military nurses.P<0.05 indicated statistically significant difference. Results: 1.In this study,a total of 699 questionnaires were sent out,699 were recovered, and 600 were valid, with effective recovery of 85.84%.2.In terms of questionnaire score, the total score of SCL-90 of nurses in military hospital was(1.406±0.481),lower than the norm of the general population in 2006(P=0.047),and the positive detection rate of obsessive-compulsive symptoms was the highest; The total score of stressors was(86.09±18.90),among which the workload and time allocation stress was the highest(2.71±0.63),followed by nursing professional stress(2.70±0.55),management and interpersonal stress(2.21±0.53)was the least. The comparison between the scores of personality characteristics and the Chinese military norm showed that the scores of the nurses in the military hospital were higher than the norm in the dimensions of joy,intelligence,stability,strength,excitement(P<0.05),but lower than the norm in the dimensions of sensitivity,skepticism,fantasy(P<0.05).The comparison of coping style score and norm showed that the positive coping style score of nurses in military hospital was higher than the norm(P<0.001),while the negative coping style score was lower than the norm(P<0.001).3.Univariate analysis shows that in terms of age(P=0.002),department(P<0.001),current position(P=0.013),current title(P=0.004),monthly income(P<0.001),personnel category(P<0.001),non-war military mission experience(P<0.001),the total average score of SCL-90 nurses in military hospitals were statistically significant different.4.Spearman correlation analysis shows that the total score of stressors and professional work were positively correlated with the total average score of SCL-90(P<0.01);Most personality traits were correlated with SCL-90 scores(P<0.05).Positive coping style score was negatively correlated with SCL-90 total mean score(P<0.01),while negative coping style score was positively correlated with SCL-90 total mean score(P<0.01).5.The results of multivariate analysis showed that among the personality traits,Q4 tension(?=0.300),C stability(?=-0.170),O worry(?=0.174)and E bullying(?=0.086).Stress source(?=0.140),positive coping(?=-0.126)and negative coping(?=0.080)were the influencing factors of nurses’ mental health in military hospital(P<0.05).Conclusions: 1.The mental health status of nurses in military hospitals is good.2.Among the personality traits,Q4 tension,C stability,O worry and E bullying,as well as stressors, positive and negative coping styles, are the influential factors for the mental health of nurses in military hospitals, among which Q4 tension is the most influential.3.Nursing administrators in military hospitals can improve the mental health level of nurses in military hospitals by relieving the pressure of nurses in all aspects, accurately evaluating the personality characteristics of nurses, rationally arranging nursing work according to the personality characteristics, and strengthening the guidance of nurses to adopt positive coping methods.
