| Background:Acne is a common chronic inflammatory skin disease occurring on hair follicle sebaceous glands.It usually happens on adolescents.The overall combined prevalence rate of acne in mainland China is 39.2%,and the prevalence rate of acne in males is even higher than that in females.The skin lesions of acne usually occur on parts where sebaceous sores are mainly distributed,such as face,check and back.Clinical manifestations of acne include papules,pustules,cysts,nodules and scars,which have a negative influnce on patient,sappearence,affecting both mental health and living quality of those with acne.Particulaly the moderate acne bringing cysts and nodules as the main performance with severe inflammation,is difficult to cure and offen repeat.So,it is necessary to constantly seek both effective and safe methods to treat severe acne.Salicylic acid is a natural active ingredient with lipophilic,antibacterial,analgestic and horny exfoliation,has been used in the treatment of variosus skin disease for years.Needling therapy is a traditional physical method for the treatment of acne,using needling to clear up the plug,puss and blood in the papules,pustules and nodules,speeding up the repair process of lesions.With the combination of this convient operation may promote the effect of treatment.Objective:30%supramolecular salicylic acid and needling was used to treat patients with severe acne.The number of skin lesions,VISIA red area score and skin barrier function were counted before and after treatment.The curative effect of 30%supramolecular salicylic acid and its effect on barrier function were observed to explore new treatment ideas.Methods:36 patients with moderate acne were selected,randomly divided into experimental group(n = 11),control group1(n = 12)and control group2(n = 13).The patients of experimental group were treated with 30% supramolecular salicylic acid combined with needling,those who divided into the control group 1 were treated with30% supramolecular salicylic acid singaly,well patients of the control group 2 were treated with needling singaly.All of the patients were observed for 2 months,with tretment given once a week for 8 times in total.On every singal visit the VISIA photographs were taken to evaluate the improvement of the red area,and the number of lesions was counted to evaluate the effect of the treatment.The skin tester was used to detect the facial twist,skin moisture content and sebum.Results:We got total 36 patients in this research,and they all finished the treatment for9 times.There was no significant difference in their basic information between three groups,including age and severity(P > 0.05);the effective rate of the experimental group was 88.87%,and that of the control 1 group was 66.67%,well that of the control group 2 was 0%,the effective rate of the experimental group or the control 1 group was remarkable higher than that of the control group 2(P < 0.05),however the different of effective rate between the experimental group and the control 1 group has no statistical significant(P > 0.05);After treatment,the GAGS score of the experimental group(15.45 ± 3.96)and the control 1 group(16.92 ± 3.70)was significantly lower than that of the control group 2(24.54±5.04),P<0.05;after treatment,VISIA red area score of the experimental group and the control group 1 was significantly improved(P<0.05),the improvement rate of VISIA red area score of the experimental group was15.63%,and that of the control group 1 was 7.78%,which was noteworthy higher than that of the control group 2(P<0.05).Skin barrier test was carried out in all patients:the TEWL value and sebum value of all facial parts in the experimental group and the control group 2 had a trend of downward,and water content of the cuticle in the experimental group and that in the control group 1 had a trend of improvement compared with that before treatment(V1)(P<0.05).After treatment,skin barrier test in the control group 2 had no significant difference(P<0.05).Conclusions: Supramolecular salicylic acid can effectively reduce the number of skin lesions and relieve facial inflammation;Supramolecular salicylic acid improved the water content of stratum corneum with eight treatments;there was a significant improvement trend in patients’ facial sebum and TEWL valuet.Supramolecular salicylic acid can promote the repair of skin barrier. |
