Objective:The anti-inflammatory ability of high density lipoprotein in 142 patients with Type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)and 142 healthy control group residents matched by age,sex and ethnic group 1:1 were determined in rural Yili,Xinjiang,to study the changes of high density lipoprotein anti-inflammatory ability under the condition of T2 DM.Methods: The subjects were selected from the field of "Multi-Ethnic Natural Population Cohort Construction and Health Follow-up Study in Xinjiang" in Yili.142 patients with type 2 diabetes who met the criteria were included from the baseline population of the cohort, and 142 healthy subjects were matched by gender, age and ethnicity 1:1.The blood lipid parameters of the two groups were determined. The antiinflammatory ability of high-density lipoprotein was determined by in vitro cell assay and RT-PCR.Enzyme linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA)was used to detect serological indicators related to high density lipoprotein capacity of study subjects: Paraoxonase 1(PON-1),Sphingosine-1-phosphate(SIP),Serumamyloid A(SAA)level. The t-test or nonparametric test was used to compare the anti-inflammatory ability and related indexes between the two groups, and the correlation between the anti-inflammatory ability of highdensity lipoprotein and serum related indexes, dietary inflammation index DII and body inflammatory marker CRP was measured by Spearman bivariate correlation coefficient Results: A total of 284 respondents(142 patients with type 2 diabetes matched to 142controls)were included, with a mean age of 53.45±9.82 years.Compared with non-type 2diabetes control groups, patients with type 2 diabetes had elevated triglyceride levels and lower levels of high-density lipoprotein. In the diabetes group, the non-high-density lipoprotein/high-density lipoprotein ratio and plasma Atherogenic index were increased. The results of cytology experiments showed that compared with the control group, the ability of high-density lipoprotein in T2 DM patients to inhibit tumor necrosis factor αstimulate the expression of vascular cell adhesion molecule-1 was significantly impaired.CRP,DII,SAA and pon-1 were higher in the type 2 diabetes group than those in the nondiabetic group.S1 P levels were lower than in the non-diabetic group.HDL antiinflammatory ability was significantly associated with smoking, triglyceride levels, fasting blood glucose,CRP,and DII.Conclusion: Patients with T2 DM have significantly impaired HDL anti-inflammatory ability.
