Objective:To explore the clinical efficacy and success rate of simultaneous transplantation of third molars to localized chronic periapical periodontitis. Methods:From February to July 2021,the patients who were suitable for autologous tooth transplantation in the oral surgery clinic of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University(Affiliated Stomatological Hospital)and who were willing to undergo autologous tooth transplantation were selected.According to the presence or absence of localized chronic periapical periodontitis in the affected teeth, they were divided into experimental group(localized chronic periapical periodontitis in the affected teeth)and control group(no periapical inflammation in the affected teeth),18 cases each.In the experimental group, the transplanted teeth were implanted after the lesion tissue in the alveolar fossa was completely removed, while the control group was implanted directly.Regular follow-up was performed after operation. The time of donor teeth in vitro and the number of trial implantation were recorded during the operation.Clinical examination and imaging examination were performed on the transplanted teeth at 1 week and 1,3,6 and 12 months after operation to evaluate the mobility of transplanted teeth and the healing of periodontal tissue. Results:There was no significant difference in the mobility of transplanted teeth between the two groups immediately after operation and at 1 and 4 weeks after operation(P>0.05).At 3 months after operation, there was significant difference in the healing rate of alveolar bone between the two groups(P<0.05).One year after operation,1 case in the experimental group had mild external root resorption and I degree loosening, and the treatment success rate was 94.44%.All the transplanted teeth in the control group reached the success standard, and the success rate of treatment was 100%.There was no significant difference in the success rate of tooth transplantation between the two groups.(χ2=1.029,P>0.05).Conclusion:When there is localized chronic periapical periodontitis in the affected teeth, autogenous tooth transplantation can be performed simultaneously after complete removal of the diseased tissue.
