Chinese medicine is an important component of China’s excellent cultural heritage,with abundant literature,complete theoretical system,and mature diagnostic and treatment techniques,which are quite rare.Traditional Chinese medicine originated in China,but its influence extends far beyond China,covering various continents such as Asia,Europe,the United States,and Africa.In the 6th century AD,neighboring countries such as Japan,North Korea,and Vietnam gradually formed a medical system with their own characteristics by absorbing Chinese medical knowledge and continuously practicing and summarizing it for a long time.They also compiled a large number of Chinese medical books,which have been continuously developed and passed down to this day.These works share the same origin and different branches as China’s traditional Chinese medicine culture,and their value is self-evident.After the 13 th century,missionaries brought Chinese medical books back to Europe,sparking a wave of learning Chinese medicine.Chinese medical books were introduced to Western merchants,diplomats,explorers,travelers,missionaries,and others through works,letters,and diaries.With the rise of the "gold rush" from the 18 th century to the 19 th century,a large number of Chinese migrated overseas,such as the United States,Australia,etc.,Chinese medicine also entered,and was tried,studied,and written by local people,opening up a new world of Chinese medicine Xintiandi.Since the 1990 s,in the context of globalization,the popularity of Chinese medicine has continued to rise.The introduction of the "the Belt and Road" policy in September 2013 opened a new path for the dissemination and development of overseas Chinese medical writings.This article divides overseas Chinese medical writings into four parts.The first part is a summary and summary of European Chinese medical writings;The second part is a summary and summary of Chinese medical literature in Asia;The third part is a summary and summary of Chinese medical literature from other countries;The fourth part describes the Periodization of overseas Chinese medical writings,the characteristics in the process of development and evolution,and the relevant factors affecting the formation of the writings.This article divides overseas Chinese medical writings into four parts.The first part mainly reviews the history of cultural and medical exchanges between countries such as the United Kingdom,France,Germany,Italy,Poland,Russia,and China,and introduces the relevant works compiled and published by representative figures with outstanding academic contributions.The second part sorts out and summarizes Chinese medical writings from Asian countries such as Japan,North Korea,and Vietnam that had earlier exchanges with China.The third part mainly explores the compilation of Chinese medical writings in countries such as the United States,Canada,Brazil,Australia,and South Africa in the Americas,Oceania,and Africa.The fourth part describes the Periodization of overseas Chinese medical writings,the characteristics in the process of development and evolution,and the relevant factors affecting the formation of the writings.The emergence and development of overseas Chinese medical writings have gone through a long and complex process of evolution,from plagiarism to publication,from excerpts to translations,and complete translations.The overseas academic community has continuously strengthened its understanding of Chinese medicine,improved its level of understanding,and deepened its understanding of traditional Chinese medicine.These works not only enrich the connotation of Chinese History of medicine,but also make up for the lack and loss in China,and also provide important clues for collation,collection and textual research.
