| OBJECTIVE:This study was conducted to observe the clinical efficacy of the intervention of tong mai wen yang moxibustion therapy in improving the TCM symptoms, ovulation and pregnancy in patients with ovulatory dysfunction infertility(ODI)by combining tong mai wen yang moxibustion with the Chinese herbal medicine wenjing decoction to treat ODI with kidney deficiency and uterine cold,in the hope of providing a safe and effective TCM intervention protocol for the clinical treatment of ODI.METHODS: Choose 60 patients who have been diagnosed with kidney insufficiency and the cold type of uterus using the ODI,and divide them at random into control and treatment groups with 30 instances each.Wenjing decoction was given orally to the control group(granule preparation;oral administration started on the fifth day of menstrual cycle, and stopped during menstrual period).Three menstrual periods total were treated in the treatment group using pulse tong mai wen yang moxibustion and an analysis of the control group.Analyze and assess the clinical effectiveness by noting changes in the TCM syndrome score, basal body temperature, follicle diameter, endometrial thickness, ovulation rate, pregnancy rate, and other indicators in the two groups before and after therapy.Results:(1)Comparison of clinical comprehensive efficacy: The comprehensive effective rate of the treatment group was 90%,higher than that of the control group at 76.67%,and the difference was statistically significant when comparing the two groups at P=0.009<0.05.(2)Comparison of TCM syndrome scores: Following therapy, the treatment group’s score was 7.73±3.42 and the control group’s score was 11.03±4.06.The scores in both groups were significantly lower than they were prior to treatment(intra-group comparison P<0.05),with the decrease being more pronounced in the treatment group(inter-group comparison P<0.05),showing that the combination of wenjing decoction and tong mai wen yang moxibustion was more effective at alleviating the clinical symptoms of traditional Chinese medicine.(3)Comparison of the basal body temperature curve’s changes: The basal body temperatures of the two groups were significantly different following treatment compared to those prior to treatment(P<0.05),but there was no statistically significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05),suggesting that the intervention of tong mai wen yang moxibustion on the basis of the treatment of wenjing decoction had little impact on basal body temperature.(4)Comparison of follicle diameter: Following treatment, the treatment group’s follicle diameter was 18.77±2.05 mm,while the control group’s was 17.20±2.86 mm.Both values represented a significant increase from the pre-treatment value(P<0.05),with the treatment group’s increase being more pronounced(P=0.018<0.05).According to these findings, tong mai wen yang moxibustion in conjunction with wenjing decoction had a greater impact on encouraging the development of patients’ follicles.(5)Comparison of endometrial thickness: The endometrial thickness after treatment was8.99±1.42 mm in the treatment group and 7.90±1.26 mm in the control group, and there were significant differences between the two groups compared with before treatment(P<0.05),and the endometrial thickening degree after treatment in the treatment group was more obvious than that in the control group(P=0.003<0.05).These results indicated that the combination of tong mai wen yang moxibustion and wenjing decoction was more beneficial to improve the endometrial receptivity of patients.(6)Comparison of ovulation rate and pregnancy rate: The ovulation rate and pregnancy rate of the treatment group were significantly higher than that of the control group after treatment, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05),indicating that the combination therapy of tongmai warming yang moxibustion combined with wenjing decoction can effectively promote ovulation recovery and improve the fertility of patients.Conclusion:(1)The combination therapy of Chinese herbal medicine to wenjing decoction combined with tong mai wen yang moxibustion is feasible and effective in the treatment of ODI patients with kidney deficiency and uterine cold.(2)Tong mai wen yang moxibustion combined with wenjing decoction therapy is more effective than wenjing decoction alone in improving the TCM symptoms of kidney deficiency and uterine cold type ODI.(3)Tong mai wen yang moxibustion combined with wenjing decoction therapy is more effective than simple wenjing decoction in promoting normal ovulation and improving the fertility of ODI patients. |
