Objective(1)introduce and translate the Relational Job Characteristics Scale(RJCs)and assess reliability and validity of the RJCs to evaluate its applicability among clinical nurses in China.(2)investigate the level of job characteristics of nurses using the Chinese version of the RJCs,and analyze the influencing factors to provide the reference for corresponding in intervention strategies for nursing managers.Methods(1)After obtaining authorization of the RJCs,the initial version of RJCs was formed through translation, experts’ opinions and preliminary survey. The convenience sampling method was adopted, and 400 clinical nurses were selected to complete questionnaires in November 2021.Critical Ratio and correlation coefficients were used to analysis Items.Cronbach’s α and criterion-related were used to evaluate the content validity of RJCs,Content validity index(CVI)was used to evaluate the content validity of the scale, exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis were conducted to assess structure validity.(2)Convenience sampling method was adopted,a total of 1013 clinical nurses were asked to complete the general information questionnaire and the Chinese version of the RJCs In in December 2021.The score of relational job characteristics of clinical nurses and its influencing factors were analyzed.Results(1)The results showed that Critical Ratio of all items ranged from15.353 to 24.739(p<0.05).the correlation coefficients between each item with the total score ranged from 0.739 to 0.835.The Cronbach’s a coefficient of the RJCs was 0.964 and the test-retest reliability coefficient was 0.825.Both CVI and S-CVI were 1.Exploratory factor analysis indicated the RJCs was composed of 2 factors, which could explain75.43% of the total variance, the factor loading value ranged from 0.661 to 0.886,Confirmatory factor analysis showed that all fit indexes were well fitted.(2)The average score the RJCs in clinical nurses was 11.28±1.85.The scores of each dimension were: Job opportunities for impact on beneficiaries(5.64±0.98)and Job opportunities for contact with beneficiaries(5.63±1.02).Age,hospital grade, marital status, have children or not, working years, employment form, education level, professional title, position, department and annual income were influencing factors of the Score of RJCs in clinical nurses(p<0.05).Conclusions(1)The Chinese version of the RJCs has a good reliability and validity, which is suitable for clinical nurses in China.(2)The average score of relational job characteristics of clinical nurses was high, indicating that clinical nurses can sensitively perceive the opportunities to contact and affect patients.Age,hospital grade, marital status, working years, employment form, education level, professional title, position, department and annual income will affect their cognition of relational job characteristics. The results of this research can provide reference for optimizing nurses’ job characteristics and future intervention programs. |
