| Objective:The purpose of this study is to deeply explore the multi-factors affecting the incidence of cancer in Chinese population through meta-analysis,so as to provide reliable scientific research basis for the early prevention,diagnosis and treatment of cancer.Methods:Literature on risk factors of esophageal cancer in Chinese population from January2012 to December 2022 was comprehensively searched in Chinese databases(CNKI,Wanfang,Vip)and English databases(Pubmed,Cochrane Library,Web of Science).After careful consideration,36 articles were finally included through the literature criteria.Utilizing R language software,a meta-analysis of the literature included can be conducted.Effect models should be selected based on heterogeneity size,combined odds ratios(OR)and 95% confidence intervals(95%CI)should be calculated,and subgroup and sensitivity analyses should be performed to determine the source of heterogeneity.Finally,the quality of the meta-analysis paper should be assessed by publication bias.Result:A meta-analysis was conducted to quantify 13 factors that influence the occurrence of esophageal cancer,with 36 articles included,comprising 21627 cases of esophageal cancer and 25092 cases of non-esophageal cancer.The results showed that smoking(OR=1.74,95% CI=1.51-2.00,P<0.001),family history of cancer(OR=2.79,95%CI= 2.26-3.45,P<0.001),fried diet(OR=1.53,95% CI=1.29-1.80,P<0.001),irregular diet(OR=2.13,95% CI=1.69-2.68,P<0.001),alcohol consumption(OR=2.34,95%CI=2.02-2.69,P<0.001),Frequently eat moldy food(OR=2.35,95% CI=1.91-2.90,P<0.001),often eat pickled food(OR=1.94,95% CI=1.70-2.21,P<0.001),often eat hot food(OR= 2.57,95%CI= 1.92-3.43,P<0.001),often eat fast(OR= 2.16,95%CI=1.81-2.59,P<0.001),often eat fresh fruit(OR=0.47,95% CI=0.35-0.62,P<0.001),often eat fresh vegetables(OR=0.37,95% CI=0.23-0.60,P<0.001),Regular consumption of bean products(OR= 0.43,95%CI= 0.33-0.57,P<0.001),regular consumption of meat,eggs and milk products(OR=0.15,95% CI=0.08-0.29,P<0.001),all of the above factors were statistically significant.Conclusions:Smoking,family history of cancer,frequent fried food,irregular diet,alcohol consumption,frequent moldy food,frequent pickles,frequent hot food and fast food are risk factors for esophageal cancer in the Chinese population,while frequent consumption of fresh fruits,vegetables,bean products,meat,eggs and milk products is the protective factor for esophageal cancer.The identification of risk factors of esophageal cancer provides an important basis for the formulation of early prevention and treatment strategies for esophageal cancer. |
