Objective:The identification of potential risk factors for Cognitive Impairment(CI)in Patent foramen ovale(PFO)patients,as well as the construction of a CI risk prediction model, has been accomplished. Methods:A total of 93 patients with patent foramen ovale treated in the Second Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University from July 2020 to December 2022 were selected. The Montreal Cognitive Assessment Scale(Mo CA)was used to divide the patients into two groups:the CI group(41 cases)and the NCI group(52 cases). This analysis gathered general data, biochemical indicators, and imaging evaluation indicators of the 93patients with patent foramen ovale. To compare these data,we used T-test and chi-square test.We used univariate analysis to establish risk factors for CI in patients with patent foramen ovale, and used LASSO regression algorithm to screen characteristic indicators related to CI in patients with patent foramen ovale, and then made Nomogram.According to this,Receiver Operating Characteristic(ROC)was plotted and the area under curve(AUC)was calculated.Hosmer-Lemeshow test and calibration curve were used to evaluate the calibration degree of the prediction model. The test level(α)was 0.05.Results:1 The Mo CA score of the CI group was 16.05±4.22,while that of the NCI group was 27.56±1.53,and the difference between the two groups was significant(P<0.05).In addition,Univariate analysis also showed that there were significant differences in age, percentage of neutrophils, fibrinogen concentration, smoking history, history of hypertension and history of cerebral infarction between the two groups.2 In this study,we established a model for predicting CI in patients with patent foramina ovalis as P=e~x/(1+e~x),where e was the natural logarithm,X=-12.50+0.07*age+1.07*history of hypertension+1.36*history of cerebralinfarction+0.07*neutrophil percentage+1.00*Fibrinogen Concentration. After this study, the area under ROC curve was 0.891,and the calibration curve of Normograph also showed excellent consistency. Conclusion:Age,neutrophil percentage, fibrinogen concentration, previous history of hypertension and cerebral infarction were risk factors for CI in patients with patent foramen ovale.A visual tool for clinicians to detect CI in those with patent foramen ovale at an early stage, the prediction model of CI in these patients is highly accurate.
