Objective: Carpal tunnel syndrome is the most common nerve compression disease, and the research on it has been quite perfect.Currently, there are more studies on the risk factors of carpal tunnel syndrome, and the risk factors leading to carpal tunnel syndrome are also more. The treatment methods of carpal tunnel syndrome are mostly conservative or surgical treatment, and the therapeutic effect has its own advantages and disadvantages. This article mainly explores the prognostic factors affecting the surgical treatment of carpal tunnel syndrome,so as to adopt a more reasonable treatment plan for patients with carpal tunnel syndrome. Methods: A total of 178 patients with carpal tunnel syndrome who were diagnosed and treated in Department of Hand and Foot Surgery, the First Hospital of Jilin University from 2019 to 2021 were collected, and a total of 95 patients were included in the study.Gender, unilateral and bilateral position, disease duration,BMI,age, and electrophysiological severity were included for univariate and multifactorial analysis. The Boston carpal tunnel syndrome symptom and function scale are used to evaluate the clinical efficacy.RXC contingency table chi-square test was used to analyze the relationship between gender, unilateral and bilateral position, disease duration,BMI,and electrophysiological severity and CTS efficacy indexes. The single-ordered data were analyzed by Kruskal-Wallis Test, and the two-way ordered data were analyzed by Gamma method and Spearman correlation analysis. Finally, ordered multivariate Logistic regression analysis was used to further clarify the relationship between each index and the severity of CTS.Results: A total of 95 patients with carpal tunnel syndrome were screened according to inclusion and exclusion criteria.BMI,gender, age, unilateral and bilateral, electrophysiological indicators, and disease course were used as independent variables, and the difference between preoperative and postoperative Boston Carpal tunnel syndrome Scale scores were used as dependent variables. It was concluded that gender(P=0.169),unilateral and bilateral(P=0.577),and electrophysiological indexes(P=0.082)could not be used as predictors of postoperative efficacy of carpal tunnel syndrome. It was also concluded that BMI(P= 0.001),age(P=0.018)and course of disease(P=0.003)could be used as predictors of postoperative efficacy of carpal tunnel syndrome.Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that BMI(P=0.000),age(P=0.001)and course of disease(P=0.049)could be independent risk factors affecting the prognosis of carpal tunnel syndrome. Conclusion: BMI,age and disease duration are independent risk factors for the prognosis of CTS patients. The higher the BMI grade, the worse the prognosis of CTS patients. The lower the BMI grade, the better the surgical prognosis of CTS patients. The older the age,the worse the prognosis of CTS patients, and the younger the better the prognosis of CTS patients. The longer disease duration, the worse the prognosis of CTS patients, and the shorter disease duration, the better the prognosis of CTS patients.
