Objective:This study aimed to explore the safety and clinical efficacy of Light emitting diode(LED)golden light combined with acyclovir in treating herpes zoster(HZ).Methods: A total of 54 hospitalized patients with HZ who met the inclusion criteria in the Department of Dermatology of the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University from October 2021 to October 2022 were selected as the research objects.According to the random number table method, the patients were divided into control group(n=18),red light group(n=18)and golden light group(n=18).The control group received acyclovir intravenous drip treatment;the red light group received acyclovir intravenous drip and red light LED phototherapy;and the golden light group received acyclovir intravenous drip and golden light LED phototherapy. We measured the time to stop blistering, time to crusting, and time to debridement to assess lesion healing, and assessed pain levels daily using a visual analog score(VAS)to reflect nerve inflammation and repair, and recorded the incidence of postherpetic neuralgia(PHN)in patients at follow-up visits on days 30 and 90,respectively.Results: The findings of the study indicated that all the 3 groups displayed similar demographic characteristics(all P>0.05).Furthermore,it was seen that the golden light and the red light groups showed a shorter blister stopping time, scab formation time, and scab removal time(P<0.05)compared to the control group(P<0.05),while the golden light group showed a shorter scab formation time and de-scab time than the red light group(all P<0.05).After treatment, the golden light group showed a significantly better VAS score than the control group, with a significant critical value of p=0.064,however,no statistical significance was noted. The golden yellow group showed a better PHN incidence than the control group at 30 days follow-up,however,no significant difference was noted between the three groups at 90 days follow-up.Compared with the comprehensive curative effect, the patients in the golden light group showed a total effective rate of 88.89%,while the red-light and control groups showed a total effective rate of 77.78%,and 72.22%,respectively.Furthermore,the results also showed that the golden-light group showed a better curative effect compared to the control and red-light groups. Conclusion:Golden light combined with acyclovir can shorten the course of HZ,relieve pain, and reduce the occurrence of PHN,and the effect of the above treatment strategy was significantly better compared to the administration of red light and acyclovir alone.
